But OMG OMG OMG we need to think of colors and ritual and like a constitution. And a handshake. And a call. Then we'll be legit

Haha. How would you recruit for an online sorority? I think even in a formal recruitment situation it's hard to know who does and doesn't meet standards--how would you do that online? And how could you ever bake enough cookies or do enough carwashes on the internet to support Dro... I mean, contribute to your philanthropy?

Hahahaha... my fiance is taking classes at the Art Institute Online. I told him about this and he responded, "I only regret that I cannot be a part of history."

But... wow. Seriously, just because you went to college does not mean that you need to be part of a sorority.

How do they pay dues? On Paypal????

Oh and lilzetakitten when I read you post, I could not help but think that how could this "sorority" stop your fiance from joining? We could just make a profile saying he is a girl, and how would they know the difference???

Yes, I know there are school records and stuff, but seriously???

I'll have to run this by him. The opportunity to join a sorority must be denied to no one!

Sigh. He says no. Darn. Something about not wanting to pretend to be a woman...

They probably got the idea from this thread...damn copycats.

...and this is why I'll be surprised if this online sorority actually works out.

Gamma Chi was the biggest GC fiasco EVER in my opinion. Like, it was bigger than Lace, The Thornbirds, and North & South.

Oh. My. God. Wow, I couldn't even read every single page of all the threads that got linked throughout, but WOW. That got SERIOUS. Applications and committees and families and "reports" and websites and (multiple, it appears) yahoogroups and plans for letter shirts, crests and BADGES. Holy cow. Clearly the really heated stuff must have been deleted but I can only imagine it got GOOD just from what I read. Interesting! (but I see why it imploded)
