I ordered the tulip necklace (hey, I'm an old sorority girl, but a sorority girl nonetheless )two freshwater pearl necklaces, a ring with matching earrings and bracelet and the sterling silver New Orleans charm bracelet. What a great discovery! I have gotten so many compliments on the pieces and they just feel so GOOD and heavy when I wear them. So I just wanted to say thanks for introducing MF to the boards!

Don't just thank me My fellow LSU tiger Fly-A-Kite was the one that brought MF up I honestly didn't think twice about her stuff its so common down here.

But its great that all our wonderful New Orleans stuff is getting spread all over the country!

Cool

Preppie,

Thanks for further insight into UNC! Your comment about Granville made me curious because I am on the waiting list for there, but I was just given on-campus housing because there was a cancellation. So I think I will withraw my application for Granville. Does it have a reputation or do you know people that live there?

After your reply about Greek life at UNC I am wondering if I shouldn't just go through formal this fall! The house that I received a bid from last year is not at UNC, but I am a legacy to 3 houses...only one is at UNC, which doesn't bother me. I have been e-mailing with a west coast girl that is in a house at UNC and she has really urged me to go through formal just because they usually don't have many openings in the spring and it is a great way to battle homesickness. So I have plenty of questions for you now..haha! I have been checking out the UNC Greek website, and you don't have to register for rush until August 14 which gives me a little time to think about it. Is it as competitive and cut throat as everyone thinks Southern schools are? I guess now that I have been through it once I know a little of what to expect..questions wise, but it probably a lot different! I am a little scared just because I don't know that much about the individual houses like I did when I rushed last year since my family had big legacy ties at my old school.

Any further information about UNC Greek life would be GREAT !!

Southern style, I love that. I read a book recently called "what every southern woman knows that every woman should" and actually a lot of it is true. You may want to read it. It might make you laugh but the fact of it is, women here are brought up to be ladies. We learn to use our womanhood to put as ahead. Just thought you may want to know.

One thing to remember, though, is that even the South gets cold at winter. Chapel Hill even gets snow sometimes. So plan accordingly! I go to school in Charleston, SC. In the winter, the wind will cut right through you. My lil sis is from Connecticut, and in her ignorance of southern winters, didn't pack any winter coats, gloves, etc. She was miserable!

The foundation advice is very true! It will melt off your face! Any clothes that are light and breathe well and won't stick to sweaty skin is best for the heat. But I know that here and in Chapel Hill, the dress is preppie. Good luck with rush. Wait til you see the Greek houses there. They're palaces compared to our houses!! Hopefully I will be there in 2 years for grad school. Oh yeah, He's Not Here is a fun bar. Definitely check it out. Best of luck!
