Exxxxxactly!

My dog's coat is longer than a short-haired breed, which makes it even more important to me that she has a raincoat when it's pouring outside. I would rather take the raincoat off, and dry it out than have her shaking all over the place and looking like a wet rat.. haha

I started my dog on the coats and booties early in life and she was a little resistant at first, but when she realized she wasn't getting wet, she warmed up to the idea

That's overboard, but I actually did it, so there would be no place for the inlaws to visit. I have a small house on the beach and seven days with them in such close quarters made me nuts. So now they have to get a hotel! Also we don't have kids so why not? And how can you resist this face?

But here are some pictures of Forrest's Room.

OMG I am IN LOVE with him! WHat a handsome boy!

Most pets aren't spoiled, they're just lovingly indulged. Our little guy goes on vacation with us & goes to doggie daycare, has some clothes, (like a slicker - when you pay for the grooming, you make sure rain doesn't ruin that perfect coif - and a few bow ties for special occasions), but I draw the line at putting a fur coat on a dog! It's a trend that's a little odd to me:

But are these great or what?

Basically, pets are a source of unconditional love, which is awfully hard to resist.

I consider pets members of the family. But just like I wouldn't put a dog collar on my kids, I don't put clothes on my dogs.

That's never been a problem for me, and I have usually had longer-haired dogs. They've always seemed to like the good rubdown they get with a towel before they come into the house.

I'll grant you that -- it's not an issue where I live.

And honeychile, you know I love you, but for pete's sake, let those dogs and cats keep some shred of the dignity God gave them.

I am totally with Mysticcat. Plus I hate small dogs. They're not barbie dolls, stop dressing them up!

Our cats are spoiled but in a cat way. Allowed to come and go as they please while we, as their servants, open and close the door. If they're sleeping somewhere, we carefully maneuver around them rather than kicking them-my princess cat, Tim, has taken to sleeping on the computer chair so my mum just gets a new chair instead. Tim is sweet as sugar and the vet's absolute favourite patient so totally allowed-along with her begging for lunchmeat (*cough cough* dad) and cat treats.
All five are spoiled in cat ways but nothing other than that.

Please note that I'm not the one dressing my dog. The only thing he ever wears is either a slicker (when it's raining & he won't go outside otherwise) or a collar with a bow tie on it!

And don't be so quick to hate small dogs, large dogs, furry dogs, or practically bald dogs. Having a prefence is quite different from hating.
