Thumbs up

Ladies ~ If you enjoyed the book "Bridget Jones' Diary", I have another book for you that you'll probably love! It is Called "Jemima J" by Jane Green and is an "ugly ducking turns into a swan" story featuring a single British woman frustrated with her looks, her job and her love life. Very entertaining, and it reminded me a bit of "Bridget Jones" Just thought I'd let you know!

Killarney Rose--that was so nice of you! That sounds like an excellent book--I will definitely check it out!

I saw BJD the other day--it was excellent! And I haven't even read the book yet! It was humorous, touching, sweet, and ALL THAT!!

I LOVED IT I LOVED IT I LOVED IT I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

i loved the book to begin with. i was floored by how AMAZING renee was. from that very first scene i was hooked. i felt so bad for her .

i'm going to see it again this week with my best friend. the only other movie i've seen twice in the theatres ever was Titanic, and that was because i went with just one friend the first time and the second time i went with about 10 of my gammaphi sisters. it was quick the hilarious scene. we all started crying when the ship started to sink, halfway through the movie, and didn't stop until it ended!

But i digress . Everyone should see Bridget Jones. It was amazing. (it was worth seeing just for that scene where Hugh Grant falls into the water )

Cool

I saw it Saturday night too! It was AWESOME. I walked out of the theater telling my guy that there's one difference between Bridget and me - I fall down more often. I really could relate to her though.

Renee was adorable in the movie. I thought she looked great.

Overall, it was a great movie experience. I can't wait for the DVD to come out

I saw Bridget Jones' Diary this past Saturday. It's my new all-time favorite movie -- I haven't enjoyed a movie that much in YEARS!!!! I can't wait til it comes out in stores so I can buy my own copy -- and the soundtrack is awesome too!! If you haven't seen it, go tonight!!!

Now I am more than anxious to see the movie. I just finished reading the book and it was sooo funny! has anyone read the sequel? seriously thinking of buying it. Finished the book in less than a week (v.g) hehe it was too fun to put down, plus its a very light and easy reading book.

bucutie,

trust me, pick it up. you'll regret it if you don't. besides, aren't you dying to know if she stays with mark darcy???

The movie is really really close to the book. They did a great job of keeping it true to the original novel. There are some extras in there and some ommissions, but generally, it's the same. It only covers book one. Just up to the time when she and mark hook up at long last.

Here's the hilarity of a problem that would arise if the second book is also made into a movie. probably the most hilarious scene in the entire book is when bridget interviews Colin Firth, who she is infatuated with, and she keeps asking him questions about Sense and Sensability. Colin Firth, of course, plays Mark Darcy in the movie. I'd love to see how they get around that. It would be such a shame to take that scene out all together .

Either way, the paper back is a pit pricey (25 dollars here, so probably about 20 by you). WORTH EVERY PENNY .
