I'm going to chime in. It is possible to get a bid in your situation - I did. I wasn't a transfer student but I did not choose to rush my freshman year and tried my sophomore year. I could not have joined an organization more perfect for me and yes, I know this doesn't happen to everyone. Just to give you a little hope.
