We had convention at the Hilton in Chicago last year and it was amazing. The beds were the most comfortable I've slept in, and we had two bathrooms off of our room. It was amazing.

I've stayed at a few Hilton Garden Inns before. The one in Fairfax was very nice, but the one in Baltimore/White Marsh was VERY overpriced. It wasn't nearly as nice as the one in Fairfax.

My family and I have had good experiences with Hampton Inn & Suites (which is part of the Hilton chain),

Stayed in a Springfield Mo. Hilton when I travelled there!

Was going to the Bar/Resturant and noticed a Man down in the Kitchen.

Went in and dragged Him out and saved his life. Got fumes and would not give me hospital money!

Lungs still screwed up so screw them!

Hotels are gross, kids - make no mistake. It doesn't matter if you're at the Library in NYC or the Courtyard Inn in Shawnee Mission, KS, quite honestly. I'm quite happy to have a neutral experience at this point.

I'm gonna have to disagree with the "hotels are gross, kids" part.

One of the NYC stations, during sweep weeks, did a CSI type report on several major Hotels. Not a good thing to see

My folks own a timeshare division of the Hilton Grand Vacations package. The poor man's way to owning a home in another place... Anyhow, I guess since housing prices have fluctuated, these items took a big hit in the industry and regular hotel rooms are being affected at the level of service.

You do have to wonder about the cleanliness of these places. If you don't get sick from allergies, hope you don't get Norwalk or Legionnaires or worse. That is why if you see anything funky with a room, you change it if you laid out money. Flush the toilet, check the shower and faucets, to opening the blinds--anything deemed important to you. Once you stay in it, the staff will be resistant to change it...

The hole in the wall I just stayed in was my immune booster shot for the year and my back has been hurting since I got back. Then I think I am catching a cold because the water was not hot enough for my showers and the space air conditioner was malfunctioning. This place was a no star hotel--it truly was a hole in the wall. But, I did not pay to stay there.

I HATE Hilton hotels!

The worst one I have ever stayed at was the St. Petersburg (FL) Hilton. The only positive aspects we had that it was free (my school district paid) and that they let us check in early.

We had:
1. They checked us out a day early.
2. After "fixing" that problem our keys wouldn't work hours later.
3. No parking when we first arrived.
4. Once we found a spot, we were charged 10 bucks per day.
5. We were given a free breakfast for the checking-out incident so once we got there we were NEVER waited on.
6. I went back to get waffles, waited 20 minutes for the damn mix.
7. Went to complain (nicely) and then was yelled at for having the audacity to think the Hilton was less than perfect by the restaurant manager.
8. The shower was super leaky and the room was super small.

Give me a Super 8 or Holiday Inn ANY day!
