What great things have you found for free?
It could be a literal thing, a place that usually charges but you somehow got in for free, or a service.
A couple of years ago, I went to sectionals for my fraternity...housing is usually for free, but you usually stay in a brother's apartment or dorm room. But, this time we were assigned to stay with a brother who didn't have an apartment or dorm room. Instead, we stayed at her grandparents house, which was a (edit) mansion. We had one floor to ourselves. They cooked us dinner each night, so we didn't have to go out to eat. It was great.

Free samples online. Either the freebie group from LJ or freebie forums. (Walmart.com and Dove.com too) I don't need to buy fabric softener for forever and travel sized deoderant and shampoo is always useful!

I did not have to pay for cover, beer, or food at Kildare's on Friday.
I've signed up for a few samples (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, razors, floss, deoderant, etc.)
I've also signed up for a couple contests. I won a guitar from Hot Topic and a t-shirt from Seventeen magazine.

I won a $500 Gucci watch in a radio station contest a few years ago.

I love it when I get bumped to business class on planes (for me it's happened about 5 times, and mostly on transatlantic flights).
I won a whitewater rafting trip on the radio a few years ago. It was pretty fun.
My new obsession is cheap (not free) designer sunglasses. The PX has been selling Juicy and Gucci all for $39 a pair, compared to their $200-250 pricetags, it seems like a steal!

Best thing yet - chaise lounge for patio...
Go to this website and click on your county/state and join...
www.freecycle.org
I've give away much and received even more (probably b.c it is good karma to give away)
The concept is to keep stuff out of the landfill. Started by some crunchy granola folks in San Francisco no doubt but it is a fantastic thing. People give away furniture, appliances, clothing, toys - you name it.
I picked up a high end patio chaise lounge last week - matches my furniture really well and these are about $150. Not even a scratch on it.
I've gotten handbags, toys, huge bag of high end samples, lotions etc.
I've given away tons of baby stuff, household stuff. It is a win win for everyone.
Everyone should look into it and tell a friend or three.

I love freecycle when people ask for services or pets. Yes, those are things that you could find in a landfill. Morons. My mother is a new freecycle addict and keeps telling me about it. I have to remind her that I've been on freecycle longer than she has so I know these things
