There should've been a thread like this years and years ago.

IFC refers to a local organization of men's fraternities. Do you mean NIC, which refers to a larger umbrella group? Even so, NIC doesn't cover all of the (inter)national fraternities.

I forgot the exact name, but was it something to do with Multicultural?

If you don't like someone on GC - just put them on ignore. And you don't need to announce that you're putting them on ignore, they aren't going to cry, and you're probably achieving the opposite of your desired effect by letting them know that they got to you.

A rule of thumb that I live by is if someone "says" something that ticks me off I'll try reading the rest of their posts. It gives me a feel for their posting style. That way I know if they're a jackass or just snarky !

NO...it's called NALFO. A multicultural greek council is something on a local campus, not a national organization.
And this would be an example of what we're talking about. If you don't know for sure....you probably shouldn't post. And if you do, you should expect that people are going to call you out on inaccuracies (sometimes sarcastically).

And this, Alanis Morrisette, is irony.
NALFO is the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations. The umbrella organization for multicultral organizations (though not all multicultral GLOs are members) is indeed the National Multicultural Greek Council.

I am not going to get into a pissing match--the poster said Multicultural Greek Council, not NATIONAL. And when we're talking about the big four councils, I think many would think of NALFO before NMGC.

My first thought when reading all of your comments is that it's not the people who would take time to read this thread that are the problem. It's the *others*...
And, since it's been brought up...

I would hesitate to place the NMGC at the level of NPHC/NPC/IFC/NALFO not only because the council is still growing but also because it isn't the same type of organization. Where the other councils/conferences meet in great part to develop agreements among the member organizations for the betterment (and protection) of the whole, the NMGC appears to act more like a chamber of commerce, bringing together organizations to share information with a future goal to work together to promote awareness of multiculturalism. But, the definition of multiculturalism seems to be rather fluid as the NMGC represents both cultural-based (Latina for example) and multicultural-based orgs. I would be interested to see an umbrella org for "historically multicultural" orgs.
That's enough of that tangent.

I so want to reply to this as a smartass but I won't because I kind of have letters in my signature. It wouldn't be classy and we all know British chicks are classy!
