Vivian: Nice outfit.
Elle: Oh, I like your outfit too, except when I dress up as a frigid bitch, I try not to look so constipated.

Margot: My lucky scrunchie. It helped me pass Spanish.
Serena: You passed Spanish because you gave Professor Montoya a lap dance after the final.
Margot: Luckily.

I loved the movie, but this might be too much even for me.

I loved the movie, but this is really hard for me to imagine as a musical.
I can already imagine some of the songs...
One will be about Elle getting dumped by Warren
One will be about Elle trying to convince her parents, advisor to let her apply to law school
Another will be about the frigid people at Harvard
And one will be about her sorority sister be on trial for murder.
LOL

I'm going !!!! I'll let y'all know if it's good or just really really bad... I hope it's not too campy or cheesy, I know it could lean in that direction. But I love the movie so much.. ( I own the Elle Woods Barbie) that I just HAD to get tix. when I passed the theatre with the Marquee lit up with the sign for it.

The musical adaptation of Legally Blonde will be broadcast on MTV.
The network plans to air a performance of the show in October.

I heard it was actually really good AND it was nominated for some Tony's, so I'll be watching.

I am not in the target audience age range, but can I just say how excited I am to hear this news? I bought the soundtrack, and have been driving my fiancee up a wall listening to it! Yeah!

It's this Saturday at 1 p.m. on MTV. It's the first a show that's currently on Broadway is coming to TV. How neat.

So, I watched it, and I'm still mixed on it. I know musicals are cheesy, but this was WAAAAAY over the top for me. Plus, if you've never seen the movie (yes, I realize that probably includes about 2 people in America), it wouldn't make much sense. My power surged in the middle of Elle singing to Warner after he proposes at the end, and it made me mad, because that was actually shaping up to be a pretty redeeming song.
I bet Luke Wilson was cringing at how Emmet was portrayed!
I think my biggest problem was the casting. Every main character, I kept thinking that we've seen it before. The girl who played Elle reminded me of Kristin Chenoweth, the one that played Paulette reminded me of Carol Channing, the one who played Vivian reminded me of Megan Mulalaly (Karen on Will and Grace), and the one who played Emmet reminded me of Anthony Rapp.
Oh, and for GC - I saw a girl in the audience toward the end in a pink & purple Tri Sigma shirt.

I actually liked it. I bought the soundtrack (someone on here was talking about it) in July, and knew I would probably never get to NYC to see it. I wish there was more oppurtunities like this to watch the Broadway shows. Right now, I watch the traveling shows that come to Norfolk, the Tonys and Macy's Day parade to get my Broadway fix.

I DVR'd it yesterday and just watched it and loved it. I think it was different enough from the movie to make it seem like a new experience too. I'll even go so far as to say that I think if they made a movie of the musical version it would do very well. I mean, if you're looking to hate it from the start, you probably will, but I think it was done very well.
AlphaFrog -- I saw the Tri-Sigma shirt girl as well.

As much as I love Legally Blonde, I have been trying to watch the musical on MTV. I love the fact that The Hills ladies are hosting the show.
But I don't like the lead who is playing Elle(sp). I need to watch it more to see if she grows on me.

I loved "Gay or European" it did nothing for the plot, but neither did many of the other songs (what was up with the Riverdance sequence...?) But the way it was done was hilarious and the way it incorporated everyone and the choreography was great. And the gay lover was super cute with his little fussy bit. I think it was just a way to put some humor into the play because it had become very serious at that part.
