I got a shampoo from my vet that worked well, vaccummed and laundered everthing in sight, tried the violet spray, flea spray and found the source of the fleas: the dog run in my apt. complex-- find the source and avoid it like the plague! Our handyman is bombing the dog run, but it's surely a matter of time before those evil fleas hit the landscaping and the interiors.
