Yes, many of the early chapters of the NPC and AES groups were at women's colleges, and greek organizations were banned at most of these campuses.

They also refer to each other as ASAs especially on their Cinderella Queen and Alumnae pages. I guess that's left over from when they were Alpha Sigma Alpha a long time ago?

I just now found this thread.... Wow Sheila, from those pics, I can tell we have some Klassy ladies there. I especially love their creed. How did they ever come up with something so unique??

not to mention their crest...I don't know why we've never tried to bring them back in, but whatever.

SUNY forced the National GLOs off all the campuses from the mid 1950s until the late 1970s or early 1980s. Some of these GLOs became locals and kept many of the traditions of the national such as having a similar name, similar crest, and similar mascot. I would not be surprised if they even had a similar ritual.

Kappa Kappa Gamma and Pi Beta Phi at my alma mater often wore their matching blazers. Most girls found them to be quite distinctive, and there was a lot of talk during rush about wanting to be able to wear the blazer! I've only been out of school for five years. Things probably haven't changed much.
