I will definitely be watching. Good luck to Fantasia and I commend her for coming out about her illiteracy.

Ya'll know they wanted 'Tasia out of the show. Those execs want a perfect image and they thought America wouldn't accept her. You know that's why Brandy lied about being married. Who did she think she was? A lot of women are single moms and that's nothing to be ashamed about.

I agree, that was a mess girl. I really thought they were married until they broke up and the boyfriend said man she was faking I never married that girl. A mess.

Watching the Fantasia movie and I'm trying to feel it out. 'Tasia's not the greatest actress, but she's good at being her. (does that make sense?) OMG, the scene at the table when she threw up!!!

Is it me or does Fantasia seem very... um.... SLOW in this movie? She seems challenged. I could just be being hyper-critical, but she is annoying me in this movie.

When dad came by and told her that without out that stomach she would be skin and bones, I was hollering WHERE? Fantasia is quite thick, honey!

I wonder how Rodney and the Raper Man feel about seeing themselves portrayed in this film....

The singing was the best part of the movie.

ETA: See, I knew this movie wasn't to premiere until Sunday! I thought that I had gone crazy when I clicked the channels and saw that it was on tonight.

Why did you say everything that I was thinking? That's why no one could play her except her. She was very...blah, but the story was good. She was really brave to admit to stealing for her baby's milk and diapers. How about Loretta Devine was awesome! I thought Dwayne Wayne was acting a little too much and his southern accent was not believeable at all. LMAO about the "skin and bones" remark.

I didn't like the movie at all. But then again I don't like Lifetime movies or Lifetime, except for the GG.

I understand that 'Tasia was playing herself and I thought she was OK. I think the mama should have been the grandma and vice versa. The mama had just look older than the grandma. And Dwayne Wayne was very extra.

The story pretty much had me almost disliking everyone except 'Taisa. Especially the boyfriend.

And the scene when she was pregnant with Zion and enter the church: That reminded me SO MUCH of when Sug reunited with her father in The Color Purple (the movie). I was waiting for them to bust out with "God's Trying To Tell You Something".

I forgot to talk about that part! LOL! When she did that, I siad, "That's very Shug Avery of her." My guy friend, who was watching with me, said, "Huh?" I tried to explain, but you have to see the Color Purple to understand

LOL I am so glad that everyone was thinking the same things I was thinking. I agree that Fantasia seemed very slow in the movie, and personally I don't think she had it all that bad growing up. I think a lot of her setbacks were issues caused by her. (not the rape) But her family lived in a nice house and a nice neighborhood, her baby's daddy was the son of a doctor personally I think she chose to struggle.
Needless to say I did NOT enjoy the movie

ETA: Fantasia's brother (the actor who played her brother) was soo cute

Really Sunday, because here in Philly it states that it's coming on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I didn't get a chance to see it yet, but I will try and check it oyut Sunday....but after the comments here I dont know....it's going to come on while my 4400 is still on, so I may not swee it until Monday.

I agree with most of the comments made....wanted her to speak up and clearly but I realized this was her. I do believe most of the circumstances she was in was definitely "self-induced" yet, she has overcome them and for that she is definitely someone that can help future generations make better choices. It was great seeing her story.

And you know there are only 2 episodes of The 4400 left, right?
