Good luck. You're going to need it.

Well, that's another problem. The event was poorly organized, and nobody really knew about it. There was poor communication. However, I plan on changing that.

Thanks for the PM, Mark. I'm gonna copy/paste that somewhere for reference.

I like to use the phrase, "In Every Life A Little Rain Must Fall. But Sometimes There will be A Silver Lining On The Shit House Wall!

So, they may not like it. Then there in lies Your Problems!

To Be honest there are to many Chapters who are needing Help From IHQ and You have enough Members of Yours to get off of their Rears to do anything they wish. So please tell them to get off of square one and do it or leave!

Harsh, Yes it is!

How do you let the campus know?

Draft a press release.

Seriously, a well drafted press release that can simply be copied and printed is a free gift to may small newspapers. I forget which oficer manual had an example of a press release, but it used to be there, I promise.

In fact, I'll make you a deal: You get the project, get me the facts, and I'll draft it for you and then FEDEX the hard copy to you. Can't get a better deal than that!

Doing something for the retirement home is a great idea, but how do we let the campus know that we are doing that? I mean yea we have AGC reps, and we could probably let the school paper know, but how else can we let the campus know that we are doing something?

We actually discussed sponsoring/coaching a little league team for the school distrcit thats like maybe 5 miles off campus. My chapter has sorta shit the bed with philanthropy, so this may be too big of a philanthropy for our chapter to handle?

Ohh and we do have a road assigned to us. It's a little 2 mile road behind campus....that project is rarely successful/exciting.

BTW, these are all great ideas. Please keep letting me know what your chapter has/is done in the past....I'm defintely taking every idea into consideration.

Yeah, the press release forms are in the beta manaul. I will look around for other examples.

And thanks for your help. I'll probably get back to you when we have a project idea drafted. We have a school newspaper, and couple of local papers that might publish the information.

Also, does anybody in here send congratulatory letters of some sort ot either their newly elected associates or their families? In the beta manual, the one found online, there is an example of it, and I think that is an excellent idea that I plan on doing. If the parents see how professional and serious this whole fraternity business is, they will be less hesistant to let their kids join Lambda Chi or to continue with it.

I have also seen where Local Home Town Newspapers print when someone there has joined an Organization at a certain College.

This helps in two ways, it lets possible College Students know who went where and if LXA is especially great. Maybe get some new fellow recruits.
It makes the parents proud to see their sons name im print and something to save. They love that sort of thing.

If You havde dead wood, get the Exec. committee and Alum. Advisory Board to get in the middle of it and take care of it.

Every one Guy who is not contributing hurts the whole Chapter. It isnt a free ride and one only gets out of what they put into it.
