He was hit with a frying pan and the article gives more clarity in the first post. But this was not just spankings but abuse. Abuse is not discipline it is abuse.

Do we know how old the "mother" was? I wouldn't be surprised if she liked the youngest son's father more than the oldest...which would explain the obvious favoritism.

As I always say, there's a special place in hell...

If someone hit me in the face with a frying pan chances are the teeth would chip and the nose would break. He had a bloody nose and lip so I don't understand.

I don't know. It's not right to beat your kid, but it's also not right to stab your mom and brother. There are plenty of kids that get abused and then don't do that. Either way, that whole family is sadly just a bunch of statistics now.

Depending upon the force I agree. But they found curling iron burns and everything else on this boy’s body. Abuse did occur and true some abused kids don't murder their parents like some abused women don't kill their attackers but some may feel that is the only way out. This boy did not have anyone telling him that he will be safe from harm he went to harm everyday. Not dismissing or given the permission to kill his mother but a person can only endure so much. I feel the same as someone that mentioned earlier in the thread that someone should have reported this to save this family from this statistic. The blame in on society-for failing this family and doing them a disservice-by not providing help.

You know another sad thing is that no one showed up at the boys hearing. He had no family members to support him or be there at all. The father did not make until after the hearing.

Gods Ivy,

i thought they had him on closed circuit TV; i didn't realize the proceedings took place in the courthouse.

I will definitely keep this family in my prayers.
