I can't think of any officer couple where the wife did not have at least her bachelor's degree. Many spouses met each other in college.

It sounds like you must have been at CMU while I was at Pitt! My husband is a 1987 USNA grad. Go Navy! lol Did you and husband make it to the game this year? Did you used to hang out at Zelda's and Peter's Pub and Caleco's? Am I grilling you too much? lol Sorry

When talking about the military, it is inaccurate to generalize officers, NCOs and junior enlisted in one group. Officers must have the BA/BS degree upon commission and better get a masters' along the way if they expect to be promoted to major or LTC. The enlisted ranks have to earn their BA/BS to achieve the top NCO promotions. yes, there is somewhat of a class system. We live in different neighborhoods based on rank.

Certainly, comparing officers, petty officers and junior enlisted is inaccurate but when I was writing about the disproportional number of trashy wives in the military I didn't want to specify which group those women were a part of. I know that GreekChat has some members married to enlisted men or are enlisted themself.
I do have to say, though, that although the "company mattress" (thanks, Rob!

) is more an E phenomenon, I've seen it happen in the officer ranks, albeit never above the O2 level). My friends and I would call them "Lynettes" after the blonde chick from "Officer and a Gentleman".

In terms of plastic surgery, we need to have highly skilled surgeons to normalize the appearance of many of our wounded soldiers. Walk into Walter Reed and you see many young men who have horrendous injuries. If plastic surgery can fix that, then we should. The plastic surgeons are getting more than enough"practice" right now.

Oh, absolutely. Speaking of Walter Reed, I've heard it was on the lastest base closing list. Do you have any idea when this'll happen and where the injured soldiers will go? Bethesda?
