ROSCOE!!!

I've always wanted a dog named Roscoe, but I always end up with female dogs.

My pittie pup (who is now 2 yrs old) did answer to dammit for a year. My roommate (who I hated) always called her dammit Her real name is Delaney Jade though.

FYI...Te Querias is correct, although the translation is closer to "You are wanted" then "I love you". You could always go the "people name" direction...name him Jose.

My dad's maltese that weighs all of 3 pounds is named Brutis.

I second or third whatever was said about socializing the Chihuahuas early. I have a Chihuahua that I rescued from the pound and she is a tough little dog and has tried my patience through and through. She basically hates and tried to eat everyone that isn't me. She loves me to death and is loyal beyond words. But had I had her as a puppy, I don't think she would be as agressive (all 10 pounds of her) protecting her territory and her mom. But, she is slowly coming around and it's all been worth it. Just do a bit of research on the breed.

I agree, your baby is totally cuter than Paris Hilton's dog.

I love the names Cooper and Riley.

My future rommate has a Chihuahua named Wrigley!!!! He's named after Wrigley Field, but it IS adorable!!!!

My vote is still for Martini, but Ringo is starting to win me over... I think he looks like a Ringo.

I would suggest this: Narrow it down to your two or three favorites, then spend one day calling him each of them. One of them will most likely stick out with a lightbulb "THAT'S his name!" moment. That's another thing I did with mine

Te Querias is also wrong. It literally means "you LOVED yourself" Querias is the past tense of Love. Te Amo is the present and literally means "I love you." Te Quiero is also correct for saying "I love you." I made sure with my mom, and she agreed with me.

Dang, 3 pounds is Tiny.

That's why it's never a good idea to translate anything literally. My husband uses Te Queiras sometimes. It's a language full of slang...and that's one of those phrases. I remember singing a French song called "Dirat-on" and the pharse "se caresse en soi memes" - he caresses on himself...I'm not great at French, but I know that's not what the composer had in mind.

True...its not good to translate things literally....but sometimes you have to. Te Quieras sounds wrong...because it is. If you want to say "I love You," you say Te Quiero or Te Amo. Te Quieras means "You love yourself." There is no other accurate translation for Te Quieras....so maybe your husband is using it wrong or maybe he means "you love yourself." I even made sure w/ my mom to make sure that its not one of those Spanish/Castellano type words (where it is wrong in one "language" and accurate in the other) but she said no. Its just plain wrong in both (if you want it to means "I love you.")

WRIGLEY!! How Cute. I've been telling my mom all y'alls suggestions and she really likes Martini...she's been calling him "Tini." That dog already got on my nerves! lol. I did not even have one hour of sleep last night! He woke up every half hour...ugh.

We have talked about getting a dog for our daughter, but we came to our senses at the last minute.

What about Chipotle?
Call him Chip?

So how about Champion?
Champion you're anything but.
We could call him Tiger.
But there's no bite in him.
Tiger! Kittens would frighten him.
Rover! When you think it over.
Rover is the perfect name for this dumb lokkin' dog!

Sandy, Sandy's his name if you please.
If you don't belive me ask anyone of the fleas.
Residing on Sandy,
True he ain't pedigreed,
Sandy, there ain't no better breed.

And he really comes in handy,
'Specially when you're all alone in the night
and you're small and terribly frightened it's
Sandy, Sandy who'll always be there!

If your dog was a girl i would have suggested the name Rudey. Since Rudey's a bitch. HAH!

But since not, then I guess Coconut will do. Yeah...we like Coconuts. Big round coco...uhhhhh ok. Hello Jessica Simpson! I mean...Pamela...I mean...uhhhh Dolly

Ahhhh nevermind.

Viva la GC and I am out

I had to bring this thread up because its almost Martini's 1st birthday.

I can't believe its been almost that long, and since I'm not going to be home for his first birthday I decided to show you all some pictures of my big boy.

At the moment, he is crawled up underneath my armpit sleeping. He's such a baby, and really spoiled. lol.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Chihuahuas are a hard breed to get used to, IMO. So here are some pictures. Hopefully you think he's as cute as i think he still is.

Here he is getting back to his Mexican roots:

Here he is waving at all the lovely people of GC:

Look at those BIG EARS!!!

and one last one....he's always playing with toys that are bigger than him!

Hehehehe. Take care all!!

That's so cute! I didn't see how old the thread was but I definitely would have voted for Martini. I met a tiny yorkie named Martini who was pretty much the cutest thing ever, considering I don't like small dogs. But seeing a tiny fluffball romp around in a human baby's fleece snowsuit and balance on someone's foot will melt your heart.
He's beautiful!
