Usual small-ish stuff... favorite snack food, fun toilitries, stationary, the most expensive thing in there maybe a gift card somewhere.... all other larger gifts were under the tree, I also opened my stocking when I got up at the crack of dawn and had to wait on my other presents.

We always have so much stuff in ours that they can't stay on the holders anymore. We get lotto tickets, makeup, candy, jewelry, etc. Pretty much whatever is small and fits. My husband's family just does 3-4 things in a stocking, so he's always excited to have Christmas with my parents because they load his stocking up with fishing lures, tickets to different events, etc.

We used to get toiletries and cute, fun stuff, but in the past couple years Santa's left Longaberger baskets in our stockings.

They got what in their stockings?!?!? I'm like you, I always got nice little "don't-need-it-but-want-it" type stuff, like perfume, jewelry, beauty products, etc. Never once did I get socks or underwear...were their parents out of their minds?

I think I got some fun rainbow colored toe socks in the toe of my stocking once. =)

I always got good stuff in mine. Like nice jewelry, not crap target stuff. And cold hard cash. and candy. Now that we have a blended family we "don't get gifts for adults" But, the stockings overflow so much that you ususally need a big shopping bag to carry it home. B/c one of my sisters has a mail order biz, we get lots of tea samples and food samples.

I would die at that - I am absolutely phobic about NOTHING going between my toes. I can't wear flip flops or sandals that go between the toes. I don't even like looking at those socks at the store (Yeah, I'm a weirdo )

AchtungBaby - I was like you - deoderant in a stocking?! If I did get underwear, it was nice and had a Victoria Secret label on it. Although mom stopped doing this b/c we were a little embarrassed to have dad taping us looking at our great new silky drawers

I am so LOL that you guys all get lottery tickets - I would never think of that - pretty cool idea until one of you wins & then the sibling rivalry is on!

If I ever got fruit or underwear or toiletries like deodarant in my stocking, I would be like . I've always gotten jewelry, candy, electronics, lottery tickets, gift cards, and the obligatory tree ornament every year.

The boys are getting some fun candy and gum from the candy store (yes, a real candy shop, not a "Big Box" merchant!), one of those clip on mini book lights, a CBJ puck keychain, a Chick-Fil-A gift certificate, and if there's room their Game Boy games will go in their stockings. As a general rule they all get the same things (that nasty sibling rivarly thing) except for eldest teen who's still stuck in orthodontics! He'll get a pack of the snack size 3 Musketeers for yet another year, poor guy, but at least he likes them.

When we were little, our stockings were filled with little, fun gifts, like candy, fun socks, etc. For several years my brother and I knew that there would ALWAYS be beef jerkey in our stockings. It became a running joke, and now I kinda miss it! Now that we both are married, (but no kids yet) we and our spouses always get a DVD. My mom knows all the movies I loved when I was a kid, so she always does such a good job choosing for me: Parent Trap, White Christmas, Pollyanna...)

I'm lucky because I somehow always win a few dollars, but my sister usually only gets a dollar or nothing. It just always works out that way, and I'd be pissed if I was her.

Red face Good Old Poor Days

Got the Apple, Orange or Tangerine along with Hard Candy , Nuts and a Toy!

But redid it and had a shit load of Stockings on the Mantle Piece for all of the Relatives. God Damn did it get expensive.

Just buy fun Little things and throw in, it will cost plenty. But, it is fun to see everyone to get to their Stocking.

Just Buy Cheep Items as everyone likes to get something!

It is the season to give, not receive!
