As for the passengers claiming they never heard the guy say 'bomb' here's a story from AP:

MIAMI - The airline passenger shot to death by federal marshals who said he made a bomb threat was agitated even before boarding and later appeared to be desperate to get off the plane, some fellow travelers said.

One passenger said he "absolutely never heard the word 'bomb' at all" during the uproar as the Orlando-bound flight prepared to leave Miami on Wednesday.

Personally I don't know what to make of this... but the way the story is starting to be played is that the AM may have said he said 'bomb' in order to justify the shoot... of course the major problem with this theory is that none of the passengers heard what the victim said outside of the plane.

the way the press is reporting it in Miami right now is that the guy didn't say "bomb" until he had run off the plane and was confronted by the air marshals, out of earshot of passengers. I agree it should be investigated...

but if the guy was bipolar and his wife knew he hadn't taken his medication, shouldn't she have made sure that he did? I don't know, if he's known to have erratic behavior when off the medication, I would think it would be a bit of a priority to have it with you when traveling. either way, it's a sad story.
