If you were a guy, I think I'd be in love!! At Last and Wonderful Tonight are two of my favorite slow songs - along with most of Nat King Cole!!

Bit of Trivia: Something, Layla, and Wonderful Tonight were all written for the same woman - Patti Boyd Harrison Clapton. There's one more, I just can't remember it right now. She must be one special lady!!

I knew that there was at least one more song written for Patti Boyd Harrison Clapton, in fact, there's a total of SEVEN!

-For You Blue by The Beatles
-It's All Too Much by The Beatles
-Layla - Derek And The Dominoes
-She's Waiting - Eric Clapton
-Something - The Beatles
-Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad - Derek And The Dominoes
-Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton

I wonder if anyone else has inspired so many songs by different people?

Some of these aren't super-slow, but they're not fast.

Beach Boys "God Only Knows"
Jack Johnson "Better Together"
Etta James "At Last"
basically anything by Ella Fitzgerald ("Misty" & "Isn't It Romantic?" being favorites)
Solomon Burke "Cry to Me"
the Drifters "Some Kind of Wonderful"
Otis Redding "These Arms of Mine"
Cary Brothers "Blue Eyes"
Greg Tannen "It's You"
John Mayer "St. Patrick's Day"
Josh Ritter "Kathleen"
Elvis Presley "Fools Rush In"
Mason Jennings "Ballad for My One True Love," "California," "Sorry Signs on Cash Machines" and "Darkness Between the Fireflies"
the Weakerthans "My Favorite Chords"
the Get-Up Kids "I'll Catch You"
the Postal Service "Be Still My Heart"

and to completely ruin my credibility, Mr. Big "The One Who Wants to Be With You." haha.

Only if she keeps sleeping with musicians. Sorry to meow.

Anyway, I'm going to add some that no one else has mentioned because they're obscure.

Down in the Seine - the Style Council
I'm In Love - Francis Dunnery
I'm Weak For You - Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes

The best 'slow song' in history is Louis Armstrong, "I Get Ideas"

The most hilarious entry on this list so far is H's "I'll Catch You" by the Get Up Kids - you weren't born in the years 1980-1986 until you've had a cheesy moment involving that song, simply fantastic.
