i have read elizabeth pantley's book and have implimented many things in it. grace was a pretty good sleeper until her dad came home from deployement, we went on vacation, all got sick and things went downhill. she did good in her toddler bed last night. i know it helped greatly that i could get down on eye level with her and not have to drop her into the dreaded crib. at about 4:30 am she would wake up like 10 min after she had fallen asleep and so i went ahead and put her in bed w/ us. she slept until 7:45. flopping all over john and me. it was funny. i tried to do the comfort w/o pickups but we aren't they're yet. we're close but no cigar. by the time we get this worked out it'll be time for vacation again. john's parents are coming in mid september! lol btw i LOVE the name avner. i was thinking it was a boy but then you wrote she. i esp. love the name for a girl. good choice!

Let me ask you if your daughter is completely over being sick? Many times babies can still be sick, but not show the outward signs like fever until they are full-blown problems. We found out that Melody was having recurring ear infections, and whenever they were first starting, she would not sleep very well.

Does she have a favorite music box? When Melody was that young and started having sleep problems, we would go back and check on her as well. One thing we found was that if we played one of her music boxes or put it on a classical radio station, she calmed down, and would usually fall asleep pretty easily.

Interestingly enough, the other day, at age 5, she wound up a small music box for her "babies" when she kissed them good night and tucked them in. When I asked her why, she said "Sh...the babies like to hear it before they go sleepy."

Good luck, sweetie.

Cheryl
