I know, I was wondering the same thing, so I looked into it . . . and it turns out, "Rev." Falwell is, in fact, the biggest douche bag on the planet Earth.

Lewis Black: Jerry Falwell was crazy before 9/11 and if you didn't know that, I'd like you to wear aluminum foil so we know who you are.

Their law school recruited me really hard. I finally told them that if they would read my file they would see I attended a Jesuit university (and we all know the Jesuits are the root of all evil and probably caused 9/11) and loved it. They left me alone after that.

This is what I don't understand about Evangical types. They act like they all have huge hard-ons for Jesus but don't like the Jesusits? They have Jesus right in their name. I know that the Jesuits are catholic and so I gues the Evangicalists are some kind of Protestant but seriously...these people both claim to follow the same teacher, and then fight with each other and are in some cases openly hostile. This confuses me and makes me want to move far away.
Liberty is my Alma Mater's traditional rival. Liberty sent me stuff so I told them I was going to Radford. I might as well have told them I was going to a Roman Orgy to sacrifice goats.

Isn't that pretty much what Radford is?

Well, someone from liberty's speaking at my church on Sunday.
"This Sunday Dr. Ed Hindson will be giving the message in both morning services. He is the Assistant Chancellor and Dean of the Institute of Biblical Studies at Liberty University. He is also a noted author, having written over 20 books, including Earth’s Final Hour, Is the Antichrist Alive and Well? and the popular Knowing Jesus Study Bible. He has lectured at numerous institutions, including Oxford and Harvard, and is also the speaker on The King is Coming telecast. Dr. Hindson is one of America’s outstanding Bible teachers, with special emphasis on prophecy. This weekend his message is entitled “Bible Prophecy and the War Against Terrorism.” The basis of his message is found in Matthew 24. His messages are both informative and exciting."

We went to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays last night, and guess who was sitting at the table across from us? Yup, Mr. Falwell himself. He was eating salads (which apparently he hates but has to eat since his 2 heart attacks). I wonder if he noticed his precious Liberty students wearing their skanky "going out" clothes all over the restaurant?
Oh, and I was talking to a girl I teach who works at the movie theater near campus, and they definitely have two Liberty students on staff to ensure that no student sees anything over PG-13 (used to be PG, but I guess they realized that nothing is PG anymore).

One difference I know is that most Evangelicals I know would never say something like "they have a hard on for Jesus." How crude can you be?

They can kneel on the carpeted bar, and pray to some of my pork.

Wait, there's a moral value attached to flip flops and capri pants?
