okay not to sound like a total dunce...

But if quota is 60 and there are 4 houses that is a possible of 240 slots.

If only 108 girls are rushing, everyone is almost like guareenteed a spot.

So somewhere the math is wrong. Either quota is lower or more girls are rushing or I'm a blonde and totally confused

Crossing my fingers for Lizzie and Pepperann tomorrow!!!

well from what I understand if a chapter already has say 45 girls, then they can only take 15 girls. So yeah, kind of worried. ELIMINATIONS ARE TONIGHT. So yeah a bit nervous, although I seemed to get a good vibe from the houses that I want.

Okay, so it sounds like total is 60, not quota. Got it.

Just keep thinking positive

And remember you have everyone reading this thread who is just as nervous as you are for you

Yes I know, and I thank u all for reading about it. So yeah I woke up at about 6:30 this morning and laid in bed til about 8. So yeah I am so ready to find out who invited me back. PepperAnn and Lizzie. I felt the most at home at these two houses and absolutely loved the girls. So yeah I head down to the lobby at 8:45 for a lil more waiting before we find out. I am sooooo excited, but at the same time scared. Oh well. Wish me luck.

P.S. Sorry for the typos, some times I am kind of a ditz.

I'm so glad to hear that you're having a great time! I can't wait to hear where you're going back to today.

I will obviously root for whichever one ADPi is, but also rooting for Pepperann and Lizzie!!! Good luck!

Just got back from cuts and I am a little sad. I was cut from two houses. Braceface and Lizzie. Being cut from Lizzie really hurt. As I said earlier, before I started recruitment they were the group that I liked a bit more then the others. And yesterday I had such a great time at their house. I thought I really connected with these girls so it was a huge disappointment. I wasn't that upset about being cut from BraceFace because I really didn't connect with those girls. It was hard to hold a conversation with them. I am sooooooo excited I got invited back to PepperAnn though. They are my top choice. I really would love to be sisters with these girls. And that's kind of funny because coming in to rush I didn't know anything about them really. I am also happy I was invited back to Doug. I felt a connection with these girls as well, just not as much as PepperAnn. The only thing is is that I know that most girls want PepperAnn and BraceFace.

I was already cut from 50% of the houses and there are more cuts in the morning. I am soooooo nervous. I really want to get an invite for Pref night from both PepperAnn and Doug. Obviously I absolutely love PepperAnn the most. What do yall think my chances of getting an invite from PepperAnn are? Is there anything I should do at Skit Night to make a better impression? Also, all of the ?'s they gave us to ask for tonight are the same ?'s we've been asking for the last two days. What should I focus on talking about tonight at the parties?

I'm really excited for tonight, but I am also super nervous. I know that if I did join PepperAnn I would be the only minority. Do yall think they could still want me?

Sorry for asking all these crazy ?'s but being cut made me a little nervous. I am just so excited and I really want to join the great sisterhood that these sororities portray.

We meet at 1:45 again so I will be checking this periodically to see if anyone has any advice.

Thanks again. Everyone on this website is making this process so better. I would have probably not even made it to today had I not found this website. I am not a legacy and I don't know anyone in a Panhellenic sorority so I came in kind of blind.

My recommendation for tonight is to not focus on asking questions about the sorority. I would just focus on having a real conversation with the girls and getting to know them (and letting them get to know you). This way they can really see how you will fit into their chapter. Others may not agree with me, but I personally think that that will have the most impact on the chapters.

As for being a minority- OF COURSE they will still want you! If you are offered a bid from either of these chapters, know that it is because they saw something special in YOU that they want in their sisterhood- not your race. Also know that if by some chance it doesn't work out, it is also not because of your race. Sometimes things like that just happen.

I think that you are doing everything you need to be doing. You are obviously very enthusiastic and the chapters will notice that. So, tonight just focus on being yourself and getting to know the ladies you meet. Things will end up the way they are supposed to! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Don't be concerned about your race hun! Seriously, if a chapter wants to have you as a member, they will bid you.

During skit night, be attentive to the skit. Belive it or not, sisters do notice if girls are staring off into space, rolling their eyes, or playing with their hair instead of watching. If you like it, tell the rusher you liked it.

Since skit night deals with sisterhood, ask what types of sisterhoods they have, their fave social event, their most memorable XYZ moment, etc. Ask what made them choose their chapter.

I'm sure you know no one here can tell you what your chances are, but I can tell that you're dealing pretty well with the stress of cuts and such. They can be tough, but you seem to be pretty good at regrouping afterwards, keep it up!

I totally agree with what Lindz and Jocelyn said. Being anything other than yourself would be a mistake. You will always be proud of yourself for just being you. Cuts may happen and take away some choices, but no one can take away your pride in yourself.

Good luck!!! And have fun!!

Thanks. I also have another question. What should I say to the sororities to make sure they know I'm interested. Do I tell them that I really like their sorority and feel at home? At PepperAnn I really did feel at home, so I'm just wondering.

There's nothing wrong with saying (tactfully and in a non-desperate stalker way) "Thanks, I am feeling really comfortable here." when a sister greets you and says "Good to see you back" or something.

You're interested in PepperAnn, so SHOW them by engaging in the conversation while genuinely listening to the sister and commenting where appropriate. Like I said, if you really like something they do as a chapter, acknowlegde it with a positive response. Just continue doing what you've been doing.

Jocelyn gave the perfect answer. Do NOT gush on and on about how you love XYZ and can't wait to be a sister. Way more people will be creeped out/annoyed by that than charmed by it. I would say the only time you could give a "I really love XYZ" answer is at a pref party and even then I would leave it at that.

Totally agree on the paying attention during skit. I had a small part in one skit and a primary job of mine was to watch girls' reactions. There were those who were laughing and singing along and having a great time and then this one little YKW who was rolling her eyes the whole time and I read her lips as she leaned over to the girl next to her and said, "This is soooo stupid." You can guess how I felt about each.

I also agree with don't gush but DO still look and sound interested in what they are about. I never thought it was weird for a rushee to say, "I have really enjoyed your parties" or something along those lines. Compliment without seeming overly excited or enthusiastic about being there, because that can get weird. Ask good questions like what do they like most about their sorority and relate their answer to yourself. When doing recruitment workshops we have this thing called find a need fill a need. You find what it is the person is looking for and relate to them how your sorority can fill it. Do the same. So like ADPi is super involved with the Ronald McDonald House. You could say (if it's TRUE!!) that you like doing volunteer work and love children, or that you used to work with underpriviledged families back home, etc. See what I mean? GOOD LUCK! And GO PEPPERANN!!!!!
