at first i was very bothered by this lawsuit. he was a grown up trying to get into the fbi. he should know his own limits and when to stop.

then i thought that if the alumnii were drinking at this event....were the collegiate members? the rushees? this would be a problem since most of them are underage. it is not the mom's place to run around and try to make college kids stop drinking bc her college graduate son died of alcohol poisoning.

i think that some responsibility will be placed on the fraternity and the school based on the laws that deltalum mentioned.

i also think that this statement by the mom makes her sound like she has always had a problem with her son being in a fraternity.

"Fraternities and sororities can serve a good purpose," Phillips said.

"Local and national fraternities, however, must come to grips with their responsibilities regarding binge drinking and systemic abuse of alcohol on college campuses. This is a growing problem that is affecting young men and women nationwide."
