Yes definitely. The part where the mother pecks at her frozen baby to try to bring it back to life made me wanna cry.

I posted this in another thread:

I saw March of the Penguins this past week.....

man is that movie wonderful.....I just think how we complain about our lives and seeing what these Penguins go through every year....we really have nothing to complain about.

Morgan Freeman did a fabulous job of narration.

--------

Yes some of those scenes were very hard to take. When the mother lost her child and then attempts to take another.....
when the "new" couple loose their egg, when transfering....

Thank G-D they did not show younglings dying b/c their parents didn't come back....that would have been way to hard to take (like the youngling looking and waiting and the other parent having to leave)...that would have broke my heart.

But it is also a reaffirmation of life.

...and people die too. It happens! Shall we sit down and watch videos of people dying?

Why can't we celebrate the animal kingdom without having to always see gruesome death?

You and your media cohorts have no problem airing it on the news. We already do that.

If you were a broadcast journalist, you would be fired making assumptions like that

I am not a general assignment news reporter/writer/producer/photographer/editor/anchor, therefore I do not "air it on the news" (meaning death).

There are many types of broadcast journalists... those who strictly cover entertainment news, religious news, sports news, etc. Not everyone belongs to the "If it bleeds, it leads" school of journalism.

That is why I am NOT a general assignment reporter, nor a crimebeat reporter, nor a foreign correspondent.

Now, back to the matter at hand... penguins. I am not a sadist, therefore I do not enjoy watching people or animals suffer. I do not feel it is necessary to include in every single animal documentary. It is time to celebrate life.

That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!

I want to go see this movie. There's been many speculations that the movie may get an Oscar nominee. It would be great if a family film gets nomiated for an Oscar. It would prove that the movie don't have to be rated PG-13 or R to get an Oscar nominee for Best Picture, because many movies that get an Oscar nomination are either rated PG-13 or R.
