I was really bummed to see the Wing Shack is under a new name. No more Bladder Bust.

I don't usually miss college (because nowadays I can't imagine keeping up with the social schedule I was on back then), but I'm getting a little nostalgic for Frogger's Mondays, Happy Bus Tuesdays downtown, Headlights Wednesdays, Fourth Fighter Thursdays, Bladder Bust at the Shack on Fridays, and fraternity parties on Saturdays... followed by a full day of shopping and recovering or bbq'ing by the pool at Knights Krossing until chapter dinner and chapter meeting on Sunday. Who had time for class?
I think Kelsey's Pizza is still there but The Grill isn't anymore. Headlights is turning into a Kobe. Wing Shack is now known as Pounders. Janie Macs became Devaney's. The schedule back in the day for me was Calico Jack's on Monday, Have a Nice Day Cafe (no longer there) on Tuesday, Janie Macs or Headlights or Wing Shack on Wednesday, Bar Orlando on Thursday, Cairo on Friday, and Icon on Saturday. Sunday was a relaxing day a Jefferson Commons.
Supposedly, it's changed a lot. People either go to Pounders, Devaney's or Knightlights everyday of the week. The greeks hardly ever go downtown anymore. I guess it's cheaper to stay local but there's nothing quite like going to Gino's or Midnight Pizza at 3am with your sisters.

I'd drive back to East Orlando for one of their philly cheesesteaks. Mmmmmm.....
The intersections of University and Dean are residential at both places where they meet. Although I think there's a new shopping place out by the north end of Dean with a pretty good deli.

I realize you're not talking about Auburn, but I just couldn't resist.

Ditto here... "Publix... where shopping is a pleasure!" Dunno if they've relaxed their strict 'no tipping' policy to the bag boys.

Don't most grocery stores in Florida except Winn-Dixie sell fresh lobster? We usually shopped at Publix, Food World, or Albertson's.

The only grocery stores in the areas in Florida that I was living in were Winn Dixie, Albertson's, or Publix. I know Winn Dixie and Albertson's didn't have fresh lobster and only a few of the Publix stores did. You would think that there would be more since it's located close to the ocean but I've noticed Publix sells fresh lobster in the stores that are in the more 'high-end' areas or their bigger stores.

In a state which, until recently, contained grocery stores like PIGGLY WIGGLY and IGA, Publix is pretty damned upscale.

Maybe I'd move back to Florida if they had more Whole Foods Markets.

There's a big difference between Publix and Winn-Dixie or Albertson's. Winn-Dixie, in my view, caters to rednecks/hill-billies and black people (those are usually the only types of people you see in there). Albertson's caters to mexicans/spanish people or broke ass college students...another words, people with no money....where as Publix caters to upper-scaled type of people. Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I saw a black person shopping in Publix. Anyhow, you get the idea.

On the lobster thing......I've always been to Publix's (with the exception of the one in Gainesville) that have huge seafood and lobster sections.

i couldn't help but think that IF she had been smart enough to get into college, and IF she had joined a sorority, and IF her sex home videos had not gotten her kicked out, then this surely would!!
