Glad to hear that you have been invited to meet the ladies of some groups.

Have fun, and take your time getting to know the groups.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. I hope he's doing better.

My grandad is doing a little better. My dad doesn't think he'll pull through, but my mom who is a nurse says she thinks he'll be just fine. I appreciate the concern.

I don't think group XYZ is going to invite me to another event because I let them know ahead of time my situation, and nobody ever responded. They probably think I was just blowing them off, but I don't care. Family is the most important thing right now.

i certainly hope that xyz doesn't take that as a "blow off." hopefully, they are just giving you some space knowing that you have family matters to attend to. I am glad your grandfather is doing better. keep us posted on him...and your ai pursuit!

The president of XYZ alumnae association wrote me an email. She says I'll be invited to their next event. I'm glad they didn't just write me off.

I am glad to hear that you heard back from XYZ asking you to join them on their next outing. I know how hard it can be...I am playing the waiting game myself. Hopefully I should hear whether or not my application was approved by the Headquarters any day now. The collegiate chapter president and the Alumnae group president signed off with their approval, so now I wait!

Best of luck to you on your AI journey!

I was pretty sure they hadn't written you off, especially since you informed them what was going on.

I found the Tri Delta alumnae I had contact with to be very gracious and willing to help in any way they could. Those kinds of qualities are what make them wonderful Greeks in the first place, as well as dedicated alumnae. Those same qualities hold true for the other women's organizations and is what has allowed all of us to continually grow in membership for over 150 years now!

The best piece of advice I can give you is to try not read in to things. (I know, easier said than done!) It will drive you CRAZY!

It's very normal to get a flurry of interest from an organization, and then hear nothing, only to hear from them again, and then nothing... and on and on.

I went through it for three years myself. Remember... the women you're dealing with have jobs and or families. Sometimes life happens.. and they get busy with other things.

Hang in there, think positive, and when there has been too long a "lull" be proactive, and drop your contacts a nice note to let them know you're still very interested.

Good luck!

BlueAngel,

What great advice! I DO get so caught up in my excitement that I tend to read into things too much. I am trying to simmer down some these days. Thanks for the encouragement!
