My old High School (also Missy Elliot's alma mater) was ranked #143

Princess Anne* | Virginia Beach | Va. | 2.518 | 23

I see a lot of schools in Northern VA are ranked high
One of the things I missed living in Northern VA...I would love to move back there to raise kids

My school slid in at the bottom. I never thought my school was fantastic so I'm not surprised Salem High is 1178.

Were you surprised by how many of the VA Beach schools were on the list? Every school that I ever had the slightest chance of attending was on the list so maybe I'm just used to excellence.

This list has always been crap, it's purely based upon something like "# of AP tests taken per student". We offer a butttttload of APs...go figure.

#113 Torrey Pines HS. I've always hated my hs :] We were #73 two years ago. Whoops. Actually it says we were 110 last year, I totally remember us stupidly boasting we were #73 or 75 in the nation a while back. Whatever.

Oooh you went to Torrey Pines? Fancy!

I went to Granite Hills HS in El Cajon, CA and we're not on the list. Big surprise. There's a reason they call it Hell Cajon.

Looks like my school Whitney Young Magnet HS made the list. I am not surprised but I am surprised at the #.

Because it's hotter than hell there? I don't know how many schools in the SE San Diego community get awards, I just loved being a part of the Poway Unified before HS and the buttttload of awards they got every year. :]

Good link! I'll have to forward this to my younger siblings/cousins in high school.

I am disappointed though because there is not a single school from the area I grew up in on the list.
