Thanks! I like the fact that probably around 100 alums all helped. Some donated money, some donated supplies, some donated their time. It was nice because everyone could be involved and have some "ownership" in the transformation. Maybe this could work for Pitt as well?
Also, as far as I understand, amost everything was paid for by the donations. I believe house corp only paid for the trim painting on the outside (none of us wanted to get up there and do it!)
Honey- Contact Upsilon's house corp President or Treasurer. They would be good people to talk to. Their contact info is on the website. I know we brought in a designer who is an ADPi. She donated her time so that didn't cost anything/much. Maybe there is someone out there that could do the same? At least then you would have a plan to present to the collegiates and alums alike. Having a solid plan could really help make people want to donate because it would feel like it is going towards a goal, as opposed to some abstract idea. Also, consider talking to other nearby chapters. Alpha Theta and Beta Kappa both really helped us out. Just some ideas!
ETA: I may be wrong about some of these things. I was not really a part of the planning, just a part of the implementing. This is what I picked up at the work parties. The House Corp would be able to give you more detailed (and possibly accurate) information.
