Multi-Cultural Councils

DePaul University (Chicago) established a Multicultural Greek Council in 2001. It houses NPHC, Latino/a, Asian and South Asian organizations. We don't have any organizations that are classified as "multicultural" yet.

Florida State's MGC has been in existance since 2000, and the members include:

alpha Kappa Delta Phi National Sorority, Inc.

Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc.

Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc.

Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc.

Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc.

Theta Nu Xi Multicultural Sorority, Inc.

Associate Member: Lambda Tau Omega Sorority, Inc.

The MGC as my school is like that too. We don't have any organization that's classified as "multicultural" yet (though I heard there is an interest group for a multicultural sorority) and we don't have NPHC orgs in our council, but we basically have all the fraternities and sororities that aren't IFC, PHC, or NPHC. We have alpha Kappa Delta Phi, Alpha Nu Omega, Beta Phi Pi, Delta Sigma Iota, Lambda Phi Epsilon, Sigma Lambda Gamma, Sigma Lambda Upsilon, and Sigma Omicron Pi. And I think we just extended associate status to Delta Phi Omega.

SOPi Jawbreaker, what happened with PDPsi's presentation?

At George Washington University, we have the following members:

Alpha Kappa Alpha - HBGLO sorority
Alpha Phi Alpha - HBGLO fraternity
Delta Sigma Theta - HBGLO sorority
Zeta Phi Beta - HBGLO sorority
Iota Nu Delta - South Asian Fraternity
Kappa Alpha Psi - HBGLO fraternity
Lambda Pi Chi - Latina Sorority
Lambda Upsilon Lambda - Latino Fraternity
Pi Delta Psi - Asian Interest Fraternity
Sigma Lambda Upsilon - Latina Sorority
Sigma Psi Zeta - Asian Sorority

We have interest from like 4 more orgs too.

The reason we don't have NPHC is because we had it before, but it didn't work because no one put in the time. So now, we all operate in one council, helping each other out and supporting. It works OK.
