I will say that it was awesome. I will not say in which ways it was awesome, to avoid spoiling for those who haven't yet seen it.

ROFL @ tyler the new grooming guru!! lol

I love watching the Fab 5!!! I think the funniest things they said in this epsiode were:

"I like your pattern. Did you register for this?" Interiors guy referring to a basketball-looking dish

"We're deliciously pimp!" Guys after getting dressed.

There was a VAST improvement.... b/c before their house was invaded by the Fab 5 it was scary!!

FYI: Queer Eye's Thom Filicia (Design) is a 1992 graduate of Syracuse and a member of Phi Gamma Delta (Fiji).

What a fabulous show! Maybe my favorite episode ever. Do any UNT people here know what chapters those beautiful ladies are in?

most of the girls at the party were kappas and chi os. The girl with the blonde hair and blue shirt they kept showing is a chi o. i think there were probably around 5 girls there that weren't kappa or chi o, since sigma chi hangs out with them the most.

I wonder if the guys have managed to keep the house and themselves looking as good as they wre by the end of the show.

(This was filmed last September. Do all such shows take so long from filming to broadcast?

well the sigma chi's here are kind of known as the pretty boys, so themselves, not much difference.

but their house.... well.. the chapter room has stayed pretty decent. they seem to have kept the furniture in good condition since then too. the rest of it is a different story however...

Sigma Chi HQ's Press Release

IOTA PHI CHAPTER FEATURED ON BRAVO'S QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY

Quote:
Members of the Iota Phi Chapter at the University of North Texas appeared on the season opener of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, one of the most talked-about shows on television.

The segment featured a “Fab Five make over” of parts of the chapter house and its members. The chapter's Recruitment Chairman and some of his brothers appeared on the fun-filled program.

“Our brothers at Iota Phi Chapter made us proud by showing that Sigma Chi is the kind of organization today's young men will find attractive to join,” said Grand Consul Lee Beauchamp, Texas A&M-College Station 1975, who approved the chapter's involvement as an experiment in marketing to high school and college students. “Sigma Chi's participation in this show is one way we are trying to reach out to prospective members. The audience for this show includes the demographic target we are trying to reach. While the audience is smaller than for broadcast network television programs, viewers of Queer Eye tend to be young, independent thinkers.”

As Sigma Chi approaches its 150th anniversary, the Fraternity is bucking the trend of declining membership among Greek institutions by refining its public image. The “makeover” is almost symbolic of the change being undertaken by the Fraternity today.
