But hey, I wouldn't mmind visiting you all when I go off to grad school, whereever I go. Can alumnae live in the houses as grad students? OMG... I'd be SOOOOO stoaked!!!

Hi Michelle,

Some chapters do have alumnae/grad students. I guess it all depends on room. U of T is mostly commuter, so the girls don't live in the house for their entire undergraduate career. The alumnae tend to act as advisors or have some sort of role in the house. There are currently two or three alumnae living at Tau.

You should talk to marissa, aka squirrely girl. she lives in the house as a grad student.

Rho Chapter at Iowa State University. They're smack in the middle of Greekland, sandwiched between Kappa Delta and Alpha Sigma Phi and across the street from Delta Tau Delta and Alpha Gamma Rho. It's lovely inside.

I think that you have to get special approval from IHQ for an alumna to live in collegiate housing.

yep lynn's right - IHQ has to approve any non-collegian living in alpha gam housing.

personally, it's worked out fabulously for me! i'm only in bg during the week and so i've got a place to stay and safe and quiet (most times!) and i can still give back to the chapter when they need help with stuff!

As soon as I figure out how to get my pictures going and online I'll post one of our house - it's creepy (and I'm not even kidding) and haunted but it was so fun to live there!

We just cleaned it out for summer. 9 roommates + a house that only gets totally cleaned 2x a year = a few of us cleaning for the entire weekend

EDIT: Our front foyer looks so much like Tau chapter's that it gave me chills... at least I think it was Tau...
