Not in the time period I'm talking about.

http://www.piercecomm.com/Specific.html

It says here that they led a successful effort to retain the 19 year old beer & wine age. How could they retain it if it didn't exist? If you weren't there since 1974, perhaps the law changed. All I know is the one girl who went there was super girly and wouldn't touch beer - she drank alcohol.

Maybe KR or honeychile can assist me with this one.

I'm confused by your post.

It says on the link "for beer and wine."

I don't think there was any time since I lived there that anyone could drink hard liquor under the age of 21. So, I think your friends were drinking liquor in Ohio illegally.

I read on some other sites that the age was 19 for everything...

at any rate, I don't think they would bother going there to drink illegally, they could do that in PA.

In NY the purchase age for all alcohol was 18, then 19 for a few years, and finally 21 in 1986.

It's too bad that they cannot live in their home, but I can understand the school's concern about vandalism.

Thumbs down

Sorry, but I dont remember the year that The Age of Consent was instituded by the Federal Govt. by Edict, that States not in complience with a Federal Mandate would be penalized by with holding Highway Funds from said States.

While I will guesstimate @ 1986 I may be off. At that time, all States were have enacted into Law that 21 was the Min. age for consumption of Alchohal Beverges whether Near Beer or anything else.

Now, back to the Real issue. If The Chapter there was closed by Their National, then The School had every right to Lock the School Owned Houseing for safe keeping.

There is a huge investment there on Schools part. Why not protect it?

As Rudey said, OOPs, it was the HDQ that closed the Chapter down, not the School.
