Considering this link is on the Focus on the Family site, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that they aren't really so Catholic anymore - as of this Sunday we neither had pastors nor pastors' wives.

100% irrelevant (as is the entirety of adduncan's rant) . . . according to CNN statistics from early last year, there have been approximately equal numbers of molestation charges across all wings of Christianity over the last 10 years, regardless of Catholic vs. Protestant or sect vs. sect. The RCC got the bad press, but it has been endemic (molestations happen at a rate much higher than the national standard). It's not one group's problem.

I think they like to place more blame on Catholics because Catholic priests are seen as deviant for not having wives and making baybeez. Plus bashing Catholics is an American tradition, it's like apple pie.
Also I need some new music, what do you recommend?

Just in case this is a sincere question, I'll present the following.
Your initial link was a discussion about Dr James Dobson, founder of "Focus on the Family", a major organization involved w/ the "religious right". From the FotF website:
http://www.family.org/docstudy/aboutdrdobson.cfm
""Dr. Dobson was chosen as Layman of the Year by the National Association of Evangelicals in 1982."
The article you linked to also mentioned an organization called the "Liberal Catholic Church". Their website is here:
http://www.liberalcatholic.org/
They may call themselves "Catholic". However, they are not part and parcel of the RCC, which was accused in the sex scandal. My post said:
Which the LCC confirms themselves - they have been out of union w/ Rome for a very long time. So implicating the LCC in the sex scandal is to accuse the wrong org.
The following also has no merit:
At no time in this thread, or in any other did I support the "spongebob protest", not have I ever bashed gay people, literally, figuratively, or otherwise. I simply pointed out an obvious misunderstanding in who is involved with what politics or activities.
You can be angry all you want - but if you want your voice to be effective, you want to make sure you're focusing on the correct target.

I stand corrected, you truly are an idiot, as you have proven to everyone. You show up aguing a point that makes no sense, and still you haven't answered my question. Yea, the founder got an award from evangelicals, but that doesn't mean he's evangelical. So they like him too, now you got catholics and protestants working together. Prove that this group is not catholic was my sincere question.
It doesn't matter that you don't like the liberal catholics, they are still catholic observing people, so don't try to push them off as non-catholics.
If you don't support the bashing of spongebob, then what the hell are you arguing for? This isn't an argument, it's just plain stupid and you can feel as good about yourself as you like, it still doesn't make sense.

The article you posted said that FOTF wanted to meet with members of the liberal catholic church. Notice that's not Roman Catholic, it's not Protestant - it's an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT DENOMINATION.
http://family.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/f...i=&p_topview=1
If you click on that link, which is actually FROM the FOTF website, you will see that they are an EVANGELICAL PROTESTANT organization. Protestant = not Catholic.
In addition, if you go here , you'll see they endorse the ministry of Billy Graham as theologically sound. If they were a Catholic organization, they'd be endorsing the Vatican.

BUMP!
So, the article said:
"SpongeBob - who appears on the children's cable channel Nickelodeon - is seen as an icon for adult gay men in the US, apparently because he regularly holds hands with his sidekick Patrick."
So what do they have to say about this, hmmmm????
Sorry, I had to post it. When I saw a news bit last night at first they did the kissing cheek greeting, then they were holding hands and the SpongeBob thing was the first thing I thought of.
