1. What is the name of your University and for how long have you had Greek Life?
The Unversity of Mississippi (OLE MISS), Oxford, MS since 1850 when DKE fraternity was founded and since 1899 when Chi Omega was founded.
2. What is your student population and what percentage of students are involved in Greek Life?
about 13,000 undergrads
about 34% are Greek
3. What is an average per semester cost for dues?
Fratenities about $375 amonth
Sororities about $450 a month
Living in the sorority around $1350 a semester
4. How many fraternities/sororities do you have on your campus?
Sororities:
9 NPC's, one service sorority, 4 NPHC's
5. What type of rush do you have (deferred, formal, etc.)
Deferred usually about 6 weeks into the fall semester, it is FORMAL recruitment
6. What are the positives/negatives of having Greek Life on your campus?
I really do not think there are any negatives at Ole Miss. Since Ole Miss' founding the Greeks have been a very big part in the University and the Traditions here. Greeks tend to be the most generous at Ole Miss, have the best grades, and stay for their entire academic time at Ole Miss. They are also more likely to donate after college to the University because they have a greater connection to the University through their sorority or fraternity.

The cost of a studio apartment in the united states is usually at least $550/month if not more... Now if you say the semester is about 5 months long (august-december), that would be $270/month of the $1350/semester. If you add that to the $450/month is $720/month. Now yes this is higher then the rent on a studio apartment, but I don't think it is outradegously so. Especially since the studio apartments listed on rent.com in the area of Oxford, MS are listed from $594-$645/month... In addition, I know with many schools (I am not sure about the Ole Miss) that money includes some if not all meals... Now does that really look as expensive...

Dues seem to be higher at SEC schools like Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, and UGA...
