I grew up on Jazz and hated it because that was all my dad played (prof drummer) now i find myself buying all the albums on cd that he had on record (300+) I love Miles, Coltrane, Nancy, Bette, Al Jarreau, to name a few.

I also love 70's music: Earth Wind and Fire, Isley Bro's and some others from that time.

I do listen to Opera from time to time: love Mozart's Requiem Mass (the Lacrimosa Te part especially), Aida and others

Love Ole skool rap (85-95) and house/club music. I miss b-more house (has it's own flava).

Just can't do country/western. sorry it grates my ears

But i do love 80's music (duran duran, eurythmics, the police go-go's....great music)

I can deal with most stuff but What I can NOT do is any current rap only the old school ORIGINAL stuff ie Kool Moe Dee, Salt n Pepa Run DMC, LLCool J, Soror MC Lyte, etc...
I can do a little (very little) country. I love classical, electronica (trance, house etc..) and swing. I like some jazz no pprogressive though. Old school R&B, some pop, 80's rock, new wave, 80's metal (a select few songs) disco, New age (Enya), and Opera*ish(Russell Watson, Charlotte Church )

Alternative Rock/Metal/Grunge
-Rush (80's band - LOVE THEM)
-Red Hot Chilli Peppers

-Incubus

Latin Freestyle
-Cynthia
-Johnny O
-Cover Girls
-Sweet Sensation
-Giggle
-Judy Torres

-TKA
**I could go on and on...that's all I listened to in my junior H.S. days.

I basically listen to most genres of music, with the exception of about 3 or 4, but deep house music is the only genre that can keep me on the dance floor ALL NIGHT. I'm talking at least 4-6 consecutive hours of dancing.
*I *heart* Masters at Work and music from Paradise Garage (although I never made it there being to young and all at the time - sigh)*

I'm with you, I like a little bit of everything. My music collection goes from Wu-Tang and M.O.P. to Alanis Morrisette to the soundtrack for Phantom of the Opera. I'm just a music person, period. My father listened to Miles Davis and John Coltrane and my mother listened to the Beatles and Janice Joplin. I grew up listening to R&B and hip-hop. So, I'm a mixture, musically and otherwise.

I'm very much a hip hop girl, but I get into Fall Out Boy and Maroon 5 (alternative).

music is my life!

Although my radio is set to the "urban adult" station, my cd collection is full of traditional jazz, rock/light metal, and gospel.

Lately i've been adding latin jazz and 80's pop to the collection.

I listen primarily to the Christian version of R&B/Hip hop. Here is my FAVORITE station. If you've never listened to contemporary christan "R&B or Hip hop" you will be amazed!

http://www.zradio.org/player/player_platinum_hot.html

I also listen to alternative and rock (again mostly Christian) although I will forever love me some Madonna, No Doubt, and anything 80s!!!!!

I can't do country although I do like Sarah Harmer (is she even considered country?)

I'm a BIG fan of Contemporary Christian, I like it more than Gospel b/c it's what I grew up on.....so Natalie Grant, Stacie Orrico, ZoeGirl, Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns, all great to me! I still don't know many Gospel artists at all, but I listen to it now more than I used to. I also love alternative more than hip/hop, I'm big on Jason Mraz, Barenaked Ladies, Lifehouse, Bowling for Soup, and I'm getting into Maroon 5.
