Honestly, I just don't see Pedro as an NL pitcher. He can't swing a bat! It's like Al Leiter all over again, but at least Al tries to swing.

Yeah . . . I'm pretty sure the NL mean batting average for pitchers was like .091, so really the no pitchers can hit. That's why the ones that can are total outliers.
The upside is that petey will have to throw to about 11% fewer 'real' hitters in a game, facing the pitcher's spot between 2-4 times a game. Really, he'll be better in the NL, but who knows for how long? He's undergoing a physical this week, but he refused an MRI on the shoulder, which has been known to have a tear for about a year and a half.
Minaya has pooped the bed here, and will only continue it if he trades for sosa . . . in his desire to a.) make a splash and b.) stock his team with dominican heroes, both for marketing and playing purposes, he's throwing around money. The Mets are NOT the yankees, they just can't do that - they should really look at themselves more as a mid-market team, until they're consistently filling shea (and making the playoffs).
That division sucks, though, so who knows.
