Just to show you how much I dislike the religious right, I'm going to give you two websites that validate my opinion.

www.godhatesamerica.com and
www.godhatesfags.com

Be warned, it's complete and utter bigotry (and not really something to look at at work). This church is the one that protested at Mathew Shepard's funeral, they also protested at Mr. Rodger's memorial service in downtown Pittsburgh and at Chatham College ("dyke drenched chatham college" their website read). They protested Mr. Rodgers (a Presbyterian minister and an all around great guy) because he was "too tolerant of gay people".

Can I just jump in here for a second and put out a disclaimer that one completely asinine and abhorent group such as this does NOT represent "religion" and those people on the "right/conservative"? Dare I go so far as to say that the group referenced is not a part of the "religious right" - they're just a bunch of hateful crazies who have managed to cultivate a very distorted view of the world and Christian beliefs. ALL beliefs (religion, politics, parenting....) have factions of adherants who take things waaaay too far.

It's a shame that these people can't see themselves objectively. As I read their statements, it's plain to see that they have very much missed the plot regarding God's message. I mean, the language used on their site is very hateful, negative and inappropriate for people who profess to be the only "true Christians" left in the world. I mean, I've never heard the pastor of *my* chuch stand up and call the Alzheimer's suffering Ronald Regan a "...senile old fool" and muse about whether or not hell is a better place for him than being alive and "...dribbling his cream of wheat." Hello? Clearly this "church" has some major issues. I'd like to think that most of you are smart enough to realize that they do not represent the vast majority of Christian people.

.....Kelly

Um, this is not representative of the "religious right." These websites go BEYOND ultra right wing conservative views.

If you find an Atheist in your neighborhood, TELL A PARENT OR PASTOR RIGHT AWAY!

You may be moved to try and witness to these poor lost souls yourself, however AVOID TALKING TO THEM!

Apparently I am a crotchty old goat who should be avoided because I am evil...

Agreed. I am the last person on the earth to defend the "Evangelical Right" as they now like to be called. BUT, even I can see that those sites are more extreme than most evangelicals consider acceptable.

i don't think the site is serious. there's no address for the church, or sound clips of Zounds! there are, however, links to purchase merchandise and games to download. i also looked up the site on lookup.ws and it's registered as a P1 application purpose. i googled application purpose definitions and found a list at whois.us.blahblah that says "P1= Business use for profit. " if the folks down at the Mt. Fellowship something-or-other really were a church, they would probably be "P2= Non-profit business, club, association, religious organization, etc."

so i don't think this should be used as an excuse to air out anyone's p.o.v. on religous fanatacism or to defend Christianity.

"Religious debate is reserved for conversations held while under the influence." i'm sure someone has said that before. and they were right.

"Now, now come on, I'm being, I'm being serious. I'm gonna' be serious here, for, for a second, are you going, are you, are you gonna' listen to me? Are you gonna' listen to me? So, so I can tell you that I respect you!"

This is my new favorite website. I wish they had a forum... I especially like the comparison between shopping malls and Darth Maul. Awesome!!!

Better than Landover Baptist!!!

Regardless of how much you hate this site, you have to admit the elephant Habu is hilarious!

How about this quote!!!

"Once sin and death started adding flaws to a person's genetic code, God in His wisdom made some rules against marrying close relatives. God is SO SMART!"

Psh... Ok this design does nothing for me. I mean if they really wanted to put GOD on the flag, they need a better typeface. Perhaps a bold sans serif, or maybe make it a prettier script. And the kerning is all wrong. Wonder if they should have knocked out the text in the flag instead of placing it on top because *gasp* that's way to obvious of a design solution. I want to speak to their creative director.
