I would agree with other NPHC opinions - you should probably take this time and explore, and find what it is that you are looking for. If you decide that the sorority that isn't on campus is the one for you, you can either contact HQ to find out what you can do, or wait until after you graduate. But make sure that you take time to figure out what it is that you are looking for, and make sure that you joining whatever sorority you choose for the right reasons.

I just have one thing, the other day I over heard some sophomore females talking about pursuing membership (into the sorority I am very interested in) at another local school. Is that possible?
Here's the info. : The sorority I long to be apart of, USED to be on my schools campus, but is not longer here (due to unexplained reasons)

Ask the NPHC advisor on your campus...no one on this board can answer questions specific to whats is or isn't allowable at your school. Be wary of listening to gossip or speculation from other students...you can easily get caught up in some mess that way.

I actually recieved good news tonight.
The regional director of the organization I am most interested in emailed me saying that the chapter will be brought back and that she is in the process of getting a supervising graduate chapter to look over the chapter!!!

I'm going to have to echo what the other women have said about maybe taking a moment to consider what you are doing and why. It's not unheard of that women consider more than one NPHC org before joining HOWEVER to describe one as your "heart" and then opting for another based on your interaction with ONE member seems ill advised. Primarily because it not only takes a lot of work to get into the sorority but it will take a lot of your time and patience and finances to maintain that membership. If you are already opting for choice number 2 it seems like it would be even more difficult for you to maintain that commitment.
And I'm not going to ask what school you attend but you may want to talk to the greek life office on whether or not transfer students have to wait a year before attempting membership (they did with almost all of the schools around me in undergrad, HBCU and PWI) because most of them want you to have X number of hours at your CURRENT institution before considering you. It's good that you are thinking but you need to seriously evaluate your interest in both organizations before applying to either.

I pm'ed her about this. She never responded. I hope she got it. I know I have had to deal with that in the Greek Affairs Office and wouldn't want her to be disappointed.
