I fell in love with Kirsten first, because we almost have the same name and we both have blond hair & blue eyes. I have a ton of her accessories as well. I also have Samantha. My mom has put them in storage for me and I can't wait to give them to my daughter(s) later on. (c:

WTF mates?
So they're not showing Samantha here in Hawaii tonight. They're showing Hawaii vs. Mississippi Valley men's bball instead. Damn you, KFVE!
Samantha will be shown on Thursday and Saturday.
dammit, and I cancelled everything tonight just for Samantha!

Samantha was always my favorite, followed by Felicity, then Molly.
Samantha was the first doll I got, and then I got Addie b/c she had the cutest pink dress ever. I absolutely loveeeeed these dolls. My best friend had ALL of the dolls and every accessory that was available at that time. She was somewhat spoiled you might guess. But we still had so much fun with these dolls. I liked the books though even more than the dolls.
Reading this thread makes me want to go read my American Girl books again!!

Naturally Samantha was my favorite . I never had the doll, but I read all the Samantha books. I use to have the American Girl cookbook too, and receive the catalogs every season.

That movie made me feel kind of old.....the actress who played Cornelia, according to IMDB was born in 1979. I still think of people born in '79 as playing teenagers and college students. But I guess people married early in 1904.....

I MISSED IT
We were in a bar with like 10 different TVs and the bartender was flipping through one of them and I caught a glimpse of Smantha.
Then cursed out a co-worker for having a birthday on the day the Samantha movie was being shown...
I'll have to wait for the repeat tomorrow night.

I was so excited about it being on...and then I missed it too! I was so sad. I went bowling with my boyfriend and some of our friends instead of seeing it. I was sad. I will have to watch it tomorrow night. Anyone know what time it is on? Is it on WB at 8 again?

I was, and still am, an American Girl nut. I have the entire Samantha collection and most of the Molly and Felicity collections. I used to dress up as the characters for Halloween when I was a kid, and my family took a trip to Williamsburg for the festivities when they introduced Felicity. Even though my sister and I are 21 and 16, we still get the American Girl magazine and catalogues at our house. Oh yeah.
I was planning on watching the movie yesterday, but our power was out for three hours! It was ridiculous.

I always wanted one of the American Girl dolls, but nope, my parents thought they were way too overpriced. However, one of these days I plan on buying one for myself. Most likely Felicity.

I finally got to see it tonight.
The not-BF thought I was insane for bringing Kirsten and Samantha out during the movie. I always wanted Molly, but
One day!

I think I might steal my sister's Molly doll -- she was never really a doll person. Like I said, Samantha was my favorite as a kid but these days I'm more interested in the era Molly grew up in. But as a little kid I hated her because she had glasses and Samantha was THE PRETTY ONE.

I was not happy with the other "Brownie moms" who introduced my daughter to the American Girl phenomena while we were on a field trip to Chicago with the Brownie troop! After that trip, there was constant begging and whining and a firm "If you save up half the money for Samantha, I'll pay the other half". This kid can't save money for ANYTHING. I caved and got it for her for Christmas, the first year I was divorced. She is not a "doll person" and hasn't ever really played with most of the dolls she has gotten. Thank goodness that Target had reasonably priced accessories for Samantha. (We, in fact, have to call her Samantha 2 because she was acquired just two months after we adopted our dog, Samantha).
Since then, every time I make my daughter a dress, I have to make a matching one for Samantha. Samantha had been moved to the basement play room (which is one step away from the toy giveaway/garage sale/etc) but she has been revived thanks to this movie.
We recently spent a weekend making things out of my daughter's old jeans (mainly purses, but also a case for her music stand for band) and I had to make Samantha 2 a tiny matching denim purse. She had better save this doll and all those tiny dresses for her own daughter!

ETA: At least I didn't have to sew Barbie clothes.. my grandma used to make my Barbie a dress to match the dresses she made me, I don't know how to sew THAT small!
