Greeting Sorors/Memberfriends/Greekfriends.
As you probably already know I am getting married this year on the 13th of July. I wanted to know when is the best time to send wedding announcements out.. Now I don't mean wedding invitations, but just announcements so that family and friends can mark thier calender. As we all know July is the month of Family Reunions, Vacations, Weddings, etc... So I want to send them off so that my family and friends can plan accordingly. Also does anyone know of a website that I can go to that includes wedding planning????
Thanks a Bunch!!!

Congratulations Soror!
Congratulations soror!
Firstly, I love Delta/Alpha weddings. If I married an Alpha, our colors would be Red, Gold, and Black. Beautiful colors. I hope your wedding is on a wedding story because I watch it every opportunity I have. Keep us posted!!!!!
Sisterly,
Del

First off Congratulations.
Secondly in response to your question. I did a search on THEKNOT.com and found this article. Hope this helps.
Wedding Announcements: A How-to Guide
Want to let faraway friends, relatives, and colleagues know you've gotten hitched? Send announcements. Here's our quick and easy guide to saying it with style.
WHY SEND THEM?
You don't have to send announcements. If everyone you want to tell about your nuptials is at the wedding, there's no need. But if you have a small wedding or tons of extended family, friends, or colleagues, announcements let people who weren't invited know you made it official. Some people view announcements as a gift solicitation, but that's not the case: A wedding announcement is like a newspaper announcement that's directed at specific people. (If anyone does sent you a gift, send a thank-you note right away!)
WHO SHOULD GET THEM?
Announcements are especially useful if you want to let professional colleagues know you're changing your name because you're now married. If you're having an intimate wedding, there may still be tons of pals and family members you want to tell. If your parents hosted the wedding but have many friends and colleagues who were not invited, they may want to send announcements.
HOW SHOULD THEY BE WORDED?
Formal announcements are worded like wedding invitations, except that the wedding has already taken place. (You can even match the style, font, and paper of your invitations -- at any rate, they should have the same level of formality.) Your parents can announce your wedding (especially if they hosted it and their names were on the invites) or you two can do the honors.
If your parents announce it:
Mr. and Mrs. James McDeal
have the honor to announce
the marriage of their daughter
[or "announce the marriage of their daughter"]
Samantha Regina
to
Edward Michael Gallagher
Sunday, the first of March
Nineteen hundred and ninety-eight
St. Thomas Beckett Church
Mount Prospect, Illinois
If you two announce your own wedding:
Samantha Regina McDeal
and
Edward Michael Gallagher
announce their marriage
Sunday, the first of March
etc.
WHEN DO THEY GO OUT?
Send announcements on the morning of your wedding day -- or as the old joke goes, on your way from the ceremony to the reception ("Pull over, post office!"). We'll cut you some slack, though: The night before is fine. Just don't send them too soon -- you're announcing an event that has already happened! You could also enlist your mom, maid of honor, or best man to drop them in the mailbox the morning after.

Hi Soror,
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am thinking of Vesta's song but that is a long story. I have an idea of an APhiA/DST theme related wedding just because I too wanted to marry an Alpha. What you can do is your party favors or whatever can have pyramids on them, or make pyramids as centerpieces or something since both Alphas and Deltas incorporate pyramids.
Also at some weddings/receptions, sorors and Brother Greeks have stepped. What you might consider is having a simple unity step between Alphas and Deltas.
Also this was at a regular wedding reception but there was a mini talent show where the bride and bridesmaids sang RESPECT to the groom and the groom and groomsmen sang something to bride.
I don't know what you plan to do as far as colors but I am sure others have fabulous ideas.
Again Congratulations!! Best Wishes and Here's to a Life filled with all of the Happiness that your Hearts can hold. [QUOTE]
Thanks a lot Soror!!! Just to give you and update, I talked it over with my fiancee' and he LOVED the idea of the pyramids!!! We are also going to have a Delta/Alpha stroll off!!! I am so excited! Also thanks to everyone who PM me!!! Thanks to you I have found a LOT of different wesites what have wedding planners!! Keep those ideas coming!!!!!
