How come you dont just take the WHOLE can to the recycle place, get the money, and send them a check? youd get a lot more than just the tab would get you....

The theory behind it is that there is more usuable metal in the tab than in the can. My roommate is philanthropy chair and that's what she was told when she took her office. I have no idea if it's really true or not.
