Yes, it was for fireside. I put together a song and dance to Sweet Home Alabama, AKA Sweet Home Alpha Gamma. It was soooo cute. Anyone want lyrics feel free to email or PM me.

Hey rayray! I just noticed your signature...and Special Family is one of my favorite AGD songs. If only my chapter sisters weren't so tone deaf. It's a real emotion getter and it gives me goosebumps everytime!

YUP! I just did my signature today, it took me a while but i figured it out. Special Family really hit hard after we all sang it together at feast of roses. I looked around at all the girls singing and it was an emotional joyous moment for me. I sing it all the time, i absolutley love that song.

When I was a pledge my pledge class did a funny song and dance routine to that song from "A League of Their Own".

I'm sure not every chapter's the same way, but I know of many who do something similar.

oohhh my chapter didn't do anything fun like that! i think they should.

I thought new members were supposed to be doing activities with the members that helped to integrate them into the chapter and not be doing things like new member class dances or making up their class songs.

doing things like that helps the pledge class bond and get to know each other. most chapters do activities that are just for the pledge class as well as activities that pull the entire chapter together. i'm glad that my chapter did seperate pledge class activities as well as full chapter activities. i got to know the girls in my pledge class incredibly well and i also got to know the older girls real well. just b/c a chapter may have an activity that is just for a certain pledge class doesn't mean they are not integrating the members into the chapter.

My chapter had tons of activities that included the new member class, and when I went through Frat Ed I didn't feel (and I'm sure my class didn't feel) alienated in any way.

I-Week still remains a special time for our new members. Every year I always look forward to the NM song and dance because I see how the girls have bonded during their NM period. It's the culmination of events before Initation Day, and the NMs continue to impress me more and more every year.

Please don't even start to make like these song and dance performances are a bad thing.

Coming from someone who had to do a Fireside song I really enjoyed it. I felt that it was the best way for my class of 25 to really bond. We had no active sisters around which was good becuase it really made us do all the work. I will forever have the best memories of my New Member class because of all the little things that happend and the inside jokes from and during rehearsals. I didnt feel it was a bad thing at all, plus the sisters loved it!
