Thank you!!!!!!! @ winneythepooh, KillarneyRose, Rudey, mu_agd, KSigKid, tinydancer, SisterHavana, tnxbutterfly, DeltAlum, Dionysus, wrigley, ISUKappa, tippiechick, and CatStarESP4!!!!!
mu_agd and SisterHavana and ISUkappa: So basically my autograph looks horrible and nobody would believe that a famous author has crappy penmanship.....so the book might be worth more without it, But seriously, if this takes off like I want it to, GreekChat will not be forgotten.
KSigKid: Thanks! I've always enjoyed writing, and although the first novel hasn't even been published yet, it just makes more sense to keep writing as the ideas come to me.
tinydancer: I'd definitely like to hear all about your friend's efforts to become published! Every little thing is helpful.
For those of you who were wondering, www.oldgoldsoul.com is my website.....we hoped to have it up by now, but would you believe my webmaster had an emergency appendectomy last week? So things are a little slow...however, we are still well within our goal of having the whole thing launched by the end of September, just in time for Homecoming season. Even though nothing is there yet officially, the majority of my hits come from GreekChat, so thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Thanks for the well-wishes.....I am in the home stretch of a lot of little elements of my projects, so keep me in your thoughts!

We'll look forward to your stop at Denver's "Tattered Cover" book store (a truely amazing place) on your first book signing tour.

Well, here is round one of some good news.....
I just finished the first draft of my second novel! I couldn't be more elated. It's a very emotional thing, wrapping up a novel. You are finally letting our characters take a break for a while. But since this novel is a sequel, and I do plan on moving these characters on to new adventures, they won't be resting for long.
Some of you are probably wondering what's going on with my FIRST novel. Well.....i STILL can't tell you, lol. BUT...I do want to say that I am still being prayerful regarding all of the issues surrounding this project. Don't worry, I don't mean negative issues. It's just a sensitive time right now and I still need everyone's continued prayers and good vibrations.
But, back to novel #2. In the next two weeks, I will be personally editing the work for grammar and continuity. When you are working on something with length, like a novel, it becomes easy to forget certain things. For example, you might want to mention that your protagonist loves chocolate milk....well, you better have him drinking chocolate milk more than once in that novel! I think my attention to detail and continuity is part of my hallmark as a writer.
When these next few weeks are up, I will be submitting copies of the manuscript to my trusted readers, most of whom really helped out when it came to editing my first novel. One of those people is my own mentor, who is a published novelist himself. (Check out Dennis Williams, author of Somebody's Child on amazon.com if you can.) The rest are all friends, but not the type of friends who will just tell you "Oh your work is soooo great!" These are friends that will hurt your feelings if your work sucks.
My friends are basically Rudey, but black.
During that reading period, I will be refocuing my attention on the business aspects of my first novel and ensuring that my website is up and operational. I am getting a little concerned with that, but not yet "worried."
Thanks for the interest in my career! I am honored to be able to share whatever aspects of it you find interesting or helpful!
My blog is here: http://rashid.oldgoldsoul.com ....sometimes I will also put updates there!

Sending happy thoughts!
I've been getting into online "novels" (well not really novels but...) so if you have things posted to your site, I'd love to read them. I'll have to check out your site later.
How exciting!
