let me rephrase............what colors would you pick for your greek organization - lets say you can pick two or three colors. what would they be and what colors would they NOT be.

I love the colors our founders chose over 130 years ago: bronze, pink, and blue. No one should think "badly" of other organization's colors, because outsiders have NO idea the deep meaning behind the colors.

Our colors are chosen for a reason, and you shouldn't think of "new" colors for your organization

They would be colors that meant something to my organization, not just arbitrary colors out of the crayola box.

Speaking of crayolas, it would be a hoot to find a GLO with "Indian Red" (politically incorrect now, but one of my fav colors as a child) and "Salmon" as their colors. Or perhaps "Brick" and "Carnation Pink"?

Of course Phi Psi's original colours were lavendar and pink. They were changed in 1918 to Cardinal Red and Hunter Green.
When Woodrow Wilson died the original colors, pink and lavendar, were the only colors of flowers on his casket.

I don't think colors are relevant. It's the values behind the organization and its principles.

Colors are just... window dressing. Symbols to remind us of those values.

I'm ok with that. I like consistent values.

For Alpha Sigma Phi, the official colors are cardinal (red) and stone (gray). However, our coat of arms doesn't have a trace of cardinal anywhere. The stone color is replaced by the heraldic term "argent" (silver).

anyways i understand that there are meanings behind colors of course but idk i think some color combos are foul..idk which ones tho lol..

i wish someone had a color of black and white..thatll be kool but i love zta's colors hehe..and of course zbt, aepi's and nevertheless phi sig sig

I was coloring the other day with my nephew and some of the "alternative" names of the colors are interesting. But I do understand the need for the change. .

Instead of picking colors that way, you should pick a nail polish name. Some of the names are a bit out there, I wonder what kind of substance the design teams were taking when they come up with the names.

you guys sort of weird me out. she was just asking what colors you dont like--- your personal preference. if saying you dont like a certain color is making someone else feel like they are dissing their GLO, that someone else has some serious sensitivity issues to deal with. it doesnt ALWAYS have to be pleasentville on this board! mentioning a color you dont like is not "mean", its just simply mentioning a color you dont like! you are NOT dissing a glo by saying you dont like a particular color. i for one, hate the color orange. i dont even know if there is a glo that has orange as one of its colors. and along those same lines, baby poo green and mustard yellow arent very high on my list of favorite colors either.

BabyP has a history of starting really negative threads about GLOs other than her own on this board.

She didn't ask what colors you don't like. If so, that would've been appropriate for chitchat, not greek life. She's asking what sorority's colors you don't like. Totally unnecessary negativity that leads to who's GLO is better argument type threads. Which there are a million of and always turn out ugly

It's one thing to ask 'what colors you do and you don't like?' It's one thing to ask 'if you had to pick a sorority by color only, what would you pick and why?' She didn't, and it seems that many of her GLO related posts tend to be more negative. Sure, it's not always sunshine, rainbows and roses. But, I feel it's just like all of the other who's the best/what is XYZ like on your campus threads. Past history indicates that very little good--if any--good can come of them.
