Invitations
Ok, I just got my phone call from my rho chi, and I had the biggest surprise of my life...
The only group I got invited back to was NASA, the group I felt the least comfortable with, plus didn't think I had the grades to even get past first cuts, and I was told that grade cuts were last night.
I am going back today, even though I said that I would probably cut them if I had to, and I am keeping an open mind and open heart. I have a better feeling about them today, since apparently they liked me enough to keep me through grade cuts!
Talk to you tonight, when I get back from philanthropy night!

Hey hun! You have the perfect attitude for this! Congrats on getting invited back to NASA! Sometimes things happen for odd reasons! Keep your chin up and keep playing the game! I'm so glad you are keeping such an open mind! Good luck!

Well, if it makes you feel any better, it sounds like the reason you were cut was grades. So don't feel that the girls didn't like you.
If things don't work out with NASA tonight, are these groups allowed to give out COBs to girls with lower GPAs? I was reading in some other threads that GPA requirements might change after FR, but I'm not sure if this applies to your school.
And I LOVE the space theme! In case you couldn't tell by my username, I'm a big space geek!

It does appear it was grades which you can always work on for a year to get up higher and try again.

I don't usually respond to rush threads, but...
Can I just say that I think it's a little odd that nobody here had a clear idea of what the houses' minimum GPA requirements were? That's one of the things that we always drilled before recruitment (from the sister side) so there would be no discrepancies. Also, shouldn't all PNMs receive a booklet containing basic info about each house, including GPA requirements? Or am I just being silly?
BTW, KurtBuschFan, cheers for giving NASA a try. If it doesn't work out, take this term to pull your grades up and then give informal a go next semester.

Day 2 Update
Well, night two is over, so I'm here to update!
Things went decently well this evening, I did have fun. We did a philanthropy project as well as looked over pictures, awards and finances. I do feel more at home with the girls after tonight, but am still unsure about tomorrow. From what my rho chi told me, NASA did do grade cuts last night, but she isn't 100% sure. She said "according to what we've been told "NASA" did grade cuts last night"...if this is the case, then I feel really good about how tonight went and about being invited back tomorrow, however, if grade cuts have not been done at NASA then I won't be invited back. Although, again, I come upon the same problem that I had with other chapters, that I don't really have a clear idea as to what the GPA requirement is. I have been told 3 different numbers, so I'm kinda clueless there. But overall it wasn't a bad night, and I could see myself fitting in with the NASA girls.
As for the grade requirement for COB, I'm honestly not even sure what the deal is there.
I will talk to my rho chi tomorrow morning, somewhere between 10:30 and 11:30, so I'll update when I know more.
Thanks for listening!

KurtBuschFan, I think you have a wonderful attitude! It does seem strange that the grade requirements weren't posted prior to Recruitment, but if that was the problem, look at it this way: you have the control of your sorority destiny! I know that, when we had to cut someone for grades, and they came back with a good increase, we thought all the more of her.
Good luck, and keep that soaring attitude!!

it does seem strange that no one...not even the rho chis know the grade requirement....sounds like the recruitment coordinator didn't do their jobs. the good news is that you had fun at nasa! we will keep our fingers crossed for you!
