When I was an active, our suite was considered the nicest BY FAR. When the NPC was having a meeting at Pitt, our Panhel Council unamiously asked us to host it. The pain I feel when I visit now is very sharp and real! That's why the whole No Frills concept scares me!!

Some people think it's crazy to even think a girl bases her decision off of the house (the actual structure), but I know it can be a factor! The two nicest (biggest) houses at Akron are DG (gorgeous with large white pillars....looks straight out of the South) and ADPi (www.geocities.com/adpibetatau)
....the other 3 houses are just smaller and they have a cute homie look to all of them!! But AGD is getting ready to build a new house soon!!

ETA: That is only the front of the ADPi house....it stretches really far back! Hannahgirl is from the DG chapter with the gorgeous house at Akron!!
Actually Andrea, I don't know when the last time you were around for recruitment but they added house tours before recruitment in 2002 and last year they had all the parties in the houses due to the Student Union construction (AGD and APhi were in the Martin Center). They are continuing to keep everything in the houses this year also. I liked being in the Union for the same reason we were years ago for the first two parties but I guess they want the girls to be able to see and learn more so thats why they added the house tours beforehand.

I love your house at Akron.....it just seems as if everytime I'm there I get lost!!! Its ok though.....I think its neat inside!!

You are so right Andrea! The house tours totally slipped my mind-- I think those are second on the list this year-- with sorority forum at the student union kicking it off this Thursday (but I am not sure if this is a requirement of rush-- I hope not because I volunteered to be an alum representative and I will end up there all night!!)! WOW- it is coming so fast! Are you going to sorority forum??

I'll be there! I don't think its a requirement (neither are house tours) but it still gives them an opportunity to find out more info. If forum is anything like last year (I actually hope it is) we'll be talking to people non-stop up until the end! *Crossing fingers*

Aww I was so busy last summer and fall with getting married, I missed recruitment. Being an alum is nice and all, but I miss recruitment.

hannahgirl I miss seeing your smiling face at all the Rho Gam events my last year of college. Sometimes I just think man I wish I still was in college, I miss the sorority stuff

I need to get back involved as an alum now cause I miss it so much.

Just to stay on topic, I also love the no frills. I was never at a events with frills, but I have family who went to HUGE schools with frills and I heard all about it and cant imagine it. I agree it would be cool to put on skits, but I think a lot of people get carried away with spending money and it really needs to be about getting to know the girls and showing them what your chapters stand for. Itll be interesting to see what will happen if our campus goes forward with the Greek Village idea in a few years, then most of the sororities will build new houses and be even more equal. I know our House Corp is already talking about the possibility of building new and where we may want a spot if we cant keep our own lot.
