From another angle ...

Being an advisor is part up your own journey as a member of your respective GLO. It should be an experience that not only benefits the chapter, but is rewarding to you in some way. We all advise for various different reasons. When I was a Chapter Advisor, I wanted to make sure that my entire board of volunteers felt supported and that they were receiving benefit from it. Always look for ways to bond with the other advisors. Your relationship with the girls will be something you cherish, but every year you will be working with a new group of them. If you want to maintain longevity on the advisory board, build the comraderie of that group too! I agree so much with what someone else said about the correlation between strong chapters and their advisor(s). This is very true. Having an advisory board that is stable, well-trained, and positive makes a huge difference. I currently serve as a Rush Advisor and I love the collegians I advise. But, the thing that really keeps me involved is the great friendships I have forged with the other advisors.
