That's the thing. I drink a ton of water, but still break out! I'm trying to keep the bottle caps of the water I drink so that I can keep track lol. But my bf and I go through a big pack of water bottles in less than a week.

I'm going to return those Kiehl's products because they were EXPENSIVE and they're not working. One night when I washed my face, it stung so much I had to stand in front of a fan to cool off my face. So definitely going back and getting my $$$.

Another problem that I have is that I have a wrinkle on my forehead now!!! It's from raising my eyebrows I guess. *sigh* I'm going to have to wait till my forehead clears up till I start doing work on my wrinkle I don't want those lotions to mess with the bumps I have now. I don't know howI have a wrinkle?! I just turned 21!!! I wonder if I should get Botox...? lol j/k

Go with gentle stuff: Specto-Gel, Cetaphil.

Most stuff that you buy at the beauty counter is terrible: Clinique, Kiehl's. It may "feel nice" but don't expect it to "treat" your acne.

Your face may be SENSITIVE as well, which is why I suggest that you go with the gentle stuff. I would see a dermatologis. The guy that I saw sold Cetaphil right out of his clinic.

and ACCUTANE is very effective but drying. You MUST MUST MUST NOT get pregnant while on ACCUTANE. And use lip balm like Carmex, because you will get dry lips. September would be a good time to go on ACCUTANE, because summer is ending (photosensitivity is a big deal with ACCUTANE). You can expect to be on ACCUTANE for 6-9 months, give or take.

Your condition may be hormonal related as well, in which case going on THE PILL (like Diane or Tri-Cyclen; not sure what the American brands are) may help.

GOOD LUCK!

I have adult acne... I have to use Retin-A for my acne. I only use a SMALL amount on each spot when I have a flare-up.

I am the same age as you. I still have mild acne, but I love the products I am currently using.

Luckily, my mom works at a dermatologist, so I get all the latest products free of charge.

I have been using prescription Differin gel for years, and I love it. No burning or stinging. I also use prescription Nicomide gel, a new product that just came out, which reduces redness and inflammation.

I use either Eucerin or Cetaphil cleansers, and either Olay Complete, Cetaphil or Eucerin moisturizers. All are great.

If you think your face is sensitive, and burns or stings easily when you apply products, be sure to buy everything for sensitive skin. Also, stay away from salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide treatments.. they sting!!

Hope this helps...

I'll tell ya Origins and Clarins are the best for acne-proned and dry-skinned (like myself) people. I absolutely love Clarins. If you have used a lot of creams and stuff, I would go to the dermatologist and see what he or she says.

My dermatologist currently has me on an oral antibiotic, external antibiotic, and acne scrub. It seems to be working ok at preventing me from getting new big break outs, but once in a while I get the smaller ones.

All good advice, see a dermo for some prescritions that can really help get it under control and give you suggestions for how to keep it that way. Also, keep your hands off your face! It's really tempting to mess with them but you can scar yourself that way so hands off! And be careful not to lean your phone on your face. Don't wear make-up when you work out and wash your face afterwards.
