Question for girls about facial products

Speaking of facial care, anyone have any cures for acne scars? My skin is pretty smooth but doesn't look it because of scaring. I have heard of Mederma and whatnot, but I don't want to spend $25+ on a product that 1) doesn't work and 2) will make me break out more.

Any suggestions?

Proactiv has a prduct called Skin LighteningLotion. I haven't used it yet, and not sure of the price.

I have discovered Olay Regenerist Serum. I'm only 30, but this stuff is amazing! It is clearing my adult-acne prone skin up as well as evening out the tone. I had some dark marks from past blemishes and they are almost gone after 2 weeks of using this stuff.

You can go on Olay and request a free sample. It's worth it. It's never too early to start taking care of your skin.

My toner is United State from Origins. I used to use toners from The Body Shop in the late 80s to mid 90s. I also used Green Tea toner from Aubrey's and one of the toners from Clinique in the past.

When I was younger I used Palmer's Cocoa Butter for scars. Because it is super greasy and makes my oily skin worse I would only use it at night. It's well worth it years later. But to work I would say maybe a month???? I really don't remember.

As for facial products, I always change and never stuck to one product.

Also, if you want a protection against lines and wrinkles and pollution, etc... I would suggest Origins White Tea collection. The daily protection makes your skin REALLY smooth and protects against all that stuff. And it smells good.

I'm glad I could help! I'm all about the free samples/trial sizes before I commit to a new product. My skin is so funny, that once I find something that works, I stick with it until something better comes along.

I am not a big fan of Clinique's 3 step system. The thing they don't tell you is that the 3 step system requires 2 other steps. That soap isn't designed to remove makeup, so you have to buy a makeup remover. The dramatically different moisturizer isn't a true moisturizer & they recommend getting ANOTHER moisturizer in addition to it. So it can get quite complicated.

I am the manager of an Estee Lauder counter and I LOVE our skincare. For normal combination skin (which is what I am) I would use the Perfectly Clean cleanser & Toner...then I usually follow with Idealist (but you can skip this if desired), then a moisturizer...my absolute favorite is the Future Perfect. it's a new one. I really have seen a difference in my skin since I've been using our products. I also use an eye creme...it's never too early to start. I use Advanced Night Repair Eye recovery.

I've been using that Clinique moisturizer for 10 years now and it's always fine - and you shouldn't use a makeup removing soap on a regular face-washing basis, it's too harsh.

Well the Clinique counter manager told me that dramatically different isn't enough. And I wasn't talking about regular soap. I know soap is not good for the face. I was talking about the clinique facial soaps. They won't remove makeup. The cleanser I use is for both cleansing and removing makeup.

Ivory soap and Lubriderm lotion. Twice a day, per my wonderful dermatologist. I have dry skin which is pretty sensitive to fragrances and dyes. I drink 8-10 glasses of water a day, which has been the best way to keep my skin clear and not dry.

Once a week I do the Biore strip and peel-off masque to clean out the pores.

Seriously, what works best for me is a very gentle cleanser like Johnson and Johnson baby wash, the occasional thin layer of benzoly peroxide and a holistic internal cleansing system of colon and liver detox, drinking plenty of water and eating lots of fruits and vegetables. Your skin is your largest organ and what's going on outside is a reflection of your internal health.

To remove acne scars I think you need to use glycolic acid or something similar to break down and rebuild your skin. A good aestician (sp?) can help you with that. Over the counter products will only get you so far.

Clinique 3 step system is the best! i use the pink toner. Besides dramtically i also use turn around cream and the Emergency cream.

Over the yrs my skin has taken on a dramatic changes and this line has always been good to my skin...i swear by clinique.
