Target, because the Wal-Marts I have been to are disorganized and disgusting.

Depends. If I am going for better quality stuff, Target. If I am looking for a good deal, Walmart.

Co-sign. There's an article in the NYTimes today about how a lot of groups that connect investors with socially conscious corporations are ceasing to refer potential investors to Wal-Mart. It just reminded me what a repugnant company it is.
I don't really go to Target, either. I prefer small businesses where the people really know what they're selling.

Ditto, plus I don't like cheap stuff. Not knocking those folks who shop there but Target, WalMart, K-Mart, Mervyns, JCPennys is all the same to me. Other places I wont shop include The Gap Inc. (includes Gap, Old Navy, and another store they own I forget at the moment)

Banana Republic, which I do shop.
As for me, I prefer Target. But Wal-Mart carries some things that I need, particularly an Almay product I need because of sensitive skin.

Target for me...
I hate the lines at Wal Mart.. they are ALWAYS rediculous.. but Wal Mart is closest to my house.. so I usually go there.. Target is a 15-20 minute drive.

Target, I love Target I go there 3-4 times a week. I live like 1.5 miles away from it and it's right by Hy-Vee so it's very convenient. Plus when I need help trying to find something, they actually help me and all of the stores are set up exactly the same (or a mirror image).
The Super Wal-Mart here scares me - it resembles a war zone, I can't find anything. I swear they get stuff in and just find an empty space on the shelves for it somewhere. Trying to find someone to help me...HA! That's funny. I read an article a while ago that compared the prices of the two and the difference was so insignificant that I can't justify driving five miles to Super Wal-Mart to save $1.97 on $60 worth of stuff. I will say that I have noticed that Wal-Marts in the South (or at least Texas) seem to be a LOT cleaner than what we have around here.

If I really need something cheap I guess I'd go to Target. I've gone but since I don't have a car I have to take a bus. I don't like looking like a migrant worker coming home with bags of grocery on the bus so I don't take Target trips really.

How on earth is that possible?! Walmart is so filthy and disorganized. I refuse to shop there, even if they may carry certain items cheaper than Target or Publix. They are being sued by a group of former employees for discriminatory policies against women (i.e. store/district managers using company funds for strip club visits, mandatory meetings at Hooters and sexual harrassment on the job). Not to mention their questionable hiring practices of illegal immigrants for cleaning duties. Walmart was started by some hick in Arkansas. Target was started by businessmen in Minnesota that had half a clue how to run a company. Price difference or not, Target always gets my money. Probably more of it than I would like.

I like the Target that is near my house. It's kept very clean and tidy! I seem to go in there to get one little thing and come out with a whole basket of stuff. Wal-Mart moved to a new location a little farther away and I HATE it!! It is always crowded and they always have about 2 check-out lines open. It's just not worth the aggravation.

i love Target. depending on where it is located, i will shop at Wal-mart. i especially love Super-Walmart and Super-Target. they rock.
you will never see me touch K-Mart with a twenty foot pole. there is one 10 min. from here near the beach that is really nice. but i won't go there. usually, the k-marts that i see are not kept very clean.

I prefer Target--- but still shop at Walmart, as it is closer to home. I will buy groceries there, but not the meat--YUCK!!
And Walmart is gross, dirty, rude employees, etc. Target is clean, quiet, organized--did I mention clean.
Go to walmart and listen to their background "noise" -- "walmart has the lowest prices" "walmart is the best"---they are trying to brainwash us!!!

I like Target a lot. They have some really cute stuff for around the house.
I am finding that I am starting to like Wal-Mart. They DO have good prices and selection. But the clientale is just yicky.
Anyone ever hear of Big Lots? What an awesome store! You never know what you'll find there and it's dirt cheap.

I love Target! The Wal-Mart around here is dirty with some questionable people in there. I can never find what I need in Wal-Mart.
